1) Seating arrangements are important and symbolic.

2) Never raise your food above your mouth.

3) Never use your hand to catch falling food.

4) Slurping is a sign of appreciation.

5) Return all your dishes to how they were at the start of the meal once you're done.

6) Don't stab food with your chopsticks.

7) Say thanks before and after your meal.

8) Use chopsticks in the right way.

9) Hold your rice bowl while eating.

10) Don't eat while elbows on the table.

Now some information that you should follow in Japan as a names.

1) Upon entering a restaurant, customers are greeted by staff "irasshaimase" means "welcome, please come in"

2) Before leaving a restaurant customers thanks to the waiter/waitress "Gochisosama deshita" means "thank you for the meal"

3) We talk to a waiter as "Sumimasen/Suimasen" means "Excuse me" because we respect them and we didn't call them as anything.

4) Here we call a restaurant as "Izakaya"

5) We call a cafe as a "Kissaten"

6) Also if you wants to give tip to the waiter/waitress then as a rule is "NO" because it can be considered rude and insulting in many ways because here the waiter/waitress salary is 2,533,186 for a year and 1,218 for an hour.
