Rainy days

Me and Eddie decide that since it's going to be rain and thunderstorms for the next 72 hours I would host a D&D campaign in my basement. Everyone was on edge so doing this might relieve some of the tension and even Max had decided to play. We couldn't have the hellfire club members round because they don't know about what's going on and it's probably better if it stayed that way.

The campaign is cut short as Jonathan, Mike and Will called Dustin from Suzie's house. Explaining everything that was going on with them and what they were trying to do, we also fill them in on what has happened on our end. Jonathan and Nancy catch up on things and Jonathan tells Nancy that he's going to college with his friend Argyle instead of her because he didn't want to just live someone else's dream; however Nancy is pissed at this and despite Jonathan's pleading and reasoning she still hates him. We all sit and are silent, staring at the floor. "Okay I'm not good with social situations and the best of times but we need to talk about what just happened." I say trying to break the tension.

"I'll tell you what happened, my douchbag boyfriend just dumped me because he doesn't want to go to college with me and instead he wants to go with his friend and smoke weed!" Nancy shouts.

"Technically, that's not true, you broke up with him. He still wants you..." I correct her and it ends up in Nancy giving me a death glare, along with Steve. "What? It's the truth." Steve just shakes his head and I look at him incredulously. "What did I do wrong?" I whisper to Eddie.

"I dunno, I think you kicked her while she's down or something. I think that's how it's said?" He whispers back, I laugh at his choice of words. "Hey, do you mind if we get something to eat? I'm starving." He asks, I nod and we get up and go to the kitchen.

"What would you like? We have: candy, chips, pop tarts, toast, fruit and other stuff." I tell him.
"Do you have any Doritos?" He asks, I reply with a yes. He smiles at me. "Okay, Doritos and whatever you would like m'lady." He replies in a posh accent, holding out his hand and putting one arm behind his back whilst leaning over ever so slightly. I giggle, and grab the Doritos and some chocolate buttons for myself; taking his hand and doing a slight curtsy. He brings it up to his mouth and gently kisses it, then he brings it up signalling for me to do a spin so I do. We laugh and walk back into the basement.

I really need to do this up fancier. I think to myself as I look around the empty, plain room. Eddie and I sit down and start eating our food, everyone looks at us weirdly but I decide to shrug it off. As we come up with a plan to find Vecna I can't help but look at Eddie. I had always thought of him as a friend but since we started hanging out a bit more I've seen him in a different kinda way. "Y/N! Are you listening to us?" Dustin asks I look at him, and I start to go red from embarrassment.

"Uh- oh yeah," I stutter, Dustin looks at me knowingly and then says he's going to explain it again so that everyone is definitely sure of what to do. "So, we go out and find the gate, which we are assuming we'll find with your compass and then I go in first, followed by Steve, Nancy, Robin, Eddie, you, Max and Lucas. Then we all play our favourite song so that we don't get our bones cracked-" Dustin coughs to interrupt me. "Okay some of yours, we'll protect you most incase we live yes. Anyway- then we use our weapons that we chose to kill it and by that we all have to work as a team and hit it over the head multiple times? Bearing in mind we have no plan B incase this doesn't work. Aaaanddd none of us have superpowers so we can't just turn it to shreds like El did to the Demagagorgan. We also know that Vecna is 10x worse than the Demagorgan so we may stand no chance. Also, are you all forgetting what the Demagorgans weakness is? It was the same as what the demadogs were afraid of too." I pause and look at them, they stare at me blankly. "Fire. The demagorgan hates fire and we scorched the shit outta Will to get the mind-flayer out of him so I'm guessing we take something that is flammable and a lighter or matches?" I finish and take a deep breath.

"You're a genius!" Dustin yells and hugs me, I great fully return the hug. We finalise our decisions and then everyone is assigned to what they need to bring with them and we decide on a time to meet up. Everybody finds their favourite song and we make sure that we are safe if Vecna decides to try and kill us.

16:30. That gives me half an hour to get to the gate in Eddies place. I think to myself as I get into my car and start making the drive. I stop on the way at a gas station to get extra gas and some snacks and water for everyone. Who knows how long we'll be down there for? I pay for what I bought and check the time 16:45, I should get there perfectly on time. I park up my car in front of Eddie trailer, everybody else is already here though. "What?" They all stare at me. "You said 5pm so here I am." I roll my eyes and walk past them. "See you on the other side I guess." I salute them as I grab the rope and start sliding down. After everybody is down I start walking but Eddie grabs my arm. "What's up?" I ask as we come to a stop.

"Listen, this is gonna sound stupid but..." he stops and looks away, sighing. "I just wanted to say please be careful. You mean a lot to me and I don't know if I could handle you dying. It sounds idiotic really and I don't want to change anything between us but... I think I'm in love with you Y/N." He looks at me, and we lock eyes. I smile at him and then kiss him.
"I think I'm in love with you too." I say as we pull away.
"Oh thank god!" He exhales and kisses me again, but more passionately. We pull away and I pull him in for a hug as we link hands and start walking to catch up to the others who had heard all of that and are smiling like crazy idiots.
