Darkness.
That was all you could see. No light, no autumn forest, no hospital. Nothing.
However, you could feel something. It was cold, possibly metal. You stayed quiet and calm. With how quiet it was, you could hear someone talking.
"Ask... quest... why... was... furries..."
The last thing you could remember was pulling a tranquilizer dart out of your back. But right before that, someone welcomed you to New York.
Whether they were lying or were being honest was hard to say. You didn't know who said that. You didn't know if the others were dead or also shot with a dart.
You tried to stand up, but found it extremely difficult. You tried to move your arm, but also found it very difficult.
If someone wanted you dead, you wouldn't be tied up. Someone wanted you alive for whatever reason. Suddenly, you heard a door open up. You looked towards the sound, and saw a dimly lit silhouette of a human.
"I can't believe they left you in a dark room alone," the voice of a woman said, "Turn on the lights!"
A bright light suddenly turned of above your head, causing you to squint. Then, footsteps began approaching you.
Your eyes began to adjust a little. You looked around. There wasn't much to see. It was a gray room, with just hanging lamp, a table in front of you, and a mirror on the opposite side of the table. However, you knew better. There was someone behind the mirror, watching.
You chuckled a little, remembering every cop show you ever watched. Those were the good days.
You must have space off, because the woman was suddenly in front of you.
You looked her up and down. She was a rather fit woman, at least in her late twenties. She had brown skin, bronze hair that went to her shoulders, unsettling green eyes, and was wearing leggings and a sports bra. She was kinda attractive.
"I know, I know," the woman said, "I'm gorgeous, but I already got a man."
"I bet it's every dog on the street," you said with a grin. She didn't respond, but you did receive the stink eye from her.
"You're a long way from home, boy," the woman said, "So tell me, what brings you to New York?"
You tried to recall what happened. A secret organization forced you to work for them to bust out some anomalous entities for God knows what. You then are shown this library that has wizards, intelligent robots, furries, humans, and a giant ass centipede. Then you fall through a magical doorway that makes you rocket out a hole in the ground. Yeah, that's believable.
"You aren't going to believe me if I told you," you said. The woman, however, smiled.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," she said, tossing your prosthetic hand on the table. You looked at it for a moment, then looked at your right hand.
You saw that it was missing, but you barely took notice. All you could focus on was the rope that kept you tied down to a metal folding chair.
"What the Hell do you want with me," you asked.
"I'm asking you the questions," the woman said, "Now, are you going to tell how a boy like you shows up in New York with three furries?"You sighed. Might as well try to make it believable.
"I was caught by Sparx, the fennec fox, and Malo, the dog with a skull face. They are part of the H.H, Human Hunters. Vixey, the white fox, she's just a civilian that found me. She wanted to tag along because... she likes me," I said, "I found myself in a hospital, but the H.K, Human Killers, apparently got wind of where I was. Some shit went down, I lost my hand, and..."
