Betrayal Never Comes From An Enemy

When Hanabi and Ghost returned Hanabi was told to meet Seto at the OSF headquarters, both Hanabi and Ghost entered the training area where Seto was waiting for them, Waturu asked Ghost to open his personal port so he could give updates and changes within the environment, Ghost opened his port and Waturu connected to him.

"Alright Ghost, I'll be able to give updates on the situation to you whenever I can"

Waturu said as Seto started speaking to the Platoon, Ghost looked at his Kunai as he listened and made sure they could kill, everyone else had their full attention on Seto as he looked at Ghost before smiling.

"Ghost, why don't you introduce yourself to everyone? And what you bring to the team"

Seto said as Ghost looked at him, his eyes said everything as he sighed, his mask gave everyone a sense that he had been through something none of them wanted to know about.

"I'm Ghost, my ability is Enhanced Combat Perception, an ability that increases my effectiveness in combat, enhancing my movement, awareness, precision and accuracy as well as many other combat related attributes... I'll scout ahead of the main group for potential routes that Waturu can't access as well as get an exact count of hostile combatants"

Ghost said as he looked at Seto who walked with him telling him to scout out the Kunad Highway to check if Other readings were accurate. Ghost set off before everyone else and missed Nagi who had just been discharged from the hospital after an injury in combat, the platoon made their preparations before heading towards the Kunad Highway.

It was too quiet for what the Other readings indicated but no one thought much of it as Ghost had already been through. The Platoon met up with Ghost after a few minutes and Ghost kept his guard up, there was nothing there, no Others.

"Something isn't right... Keep your guard up"

Ghost said as he had his hand on his Katana. Suddenly Gemma appeared above Seto Platoon with several OSF members who were tasked with stopping Seto. Confusion ran deep within each member of Seto Platoon, however Gemma got into an offensive stance provoking both Seto and Luka.

"Seto, he's no match for Two Septentrions"

Luka said as Karen appeared for seemingly no where, his gaze heartless as he looked at Luka from the corner of his eye.

"Would you say the same for me, Luka?"

Karen said as Karen looked at Yuito and yelled at him to give him his power. Ghost stood in between Karen and Yuito and pointed his blade towards Karen's heart as Luka and Seto stood either side of Ghost. However Shadow, ran behind Ghost in an attempt to neutralise him first but it backfired when Kyoka Platoon arrived.

Ghost deflected the blow and Shadow stood next to Karen before he realised what had happened, Ghost's stare turned from broken to rage.

"I thought I could trust you to have my back... It seems that you cannot protect your own without aid Ghost"

Shadow said as he redirected his focus onto Shadow, her words didn't cut deep into Ghost as he stayed quiet letting actions speak. He put his hand in front of Seto in a manner to let him face Shadow alone, Karen honoured Ghost's decision as everyone watched.

Shadow appeared calm however her speed was unpredictable but Ghost knew her move set, he parried and blocked her strikes with unmatched precision as if he was looking into the immediate future, but Naomi wasn't giving Ghost her precognition.

Ghost made a decisive move and dodged one of her strongest blows and started his offensive against her. His strikes were extremely precise, his focus was unmatched as he kept his eyes on her weapons and her footwork as he attacked, his Enhanced Combat Perception aided his blows, Ghost's brain drive made his appearance even more frightening until Ghost wounded his once best friend who had fallen from his protection. Shadow fled the area as Ghost looked at Karen, his eyes piercing through his soul. Karen could see Ghost's objective, Ghost wanted blood, his blood.

Ghost dashed towards Karen at a blistering speed, his blade merely inches from Karen's chest, but the intensity of the attempt caught Karen off guard as Ghost started to attack with precision even he couldn't believe. Ghost kept a relentless assault, his slashes were brutally accurate, faster than he could anticipate, and stronger than before, Karen teleported out of Ghost's range however Ghost was prepared and threw one of his Kunai which cut through the air like a pair of scissors gliding through paper, the projectile travelled at a blistering pace however only scratched Karen's cheek causing him to lose balance.

Ghost capitalised upon Karen staggering, he began to run towards Karen and jumped above him to land a killing blow but Luka stepped in and prevented the strike. Karen escaped as he managed to copy Yuito's power, however Kasane's power resonated with Yuito's and an ungodly force of nature shook the earth before everyone was thrown across the highway. Several OSF members being dragged into a gravitational anomaly that had appeared suddenly above the highway, fire spread slowly across the roads that nature had captured as everyone woke up at different times, Ghost was alone. However he found his way to Hanabi and a few others before meeting up with Seto.

"Sir, I highly advise an immediate withdrawal from the area, I'll stay behind and ensure survivors make it to safety"

Ghost said as he felt a sharp pain ripple through his back. Ghost fell to his knees and moved his head sharply before teleporting a few meters forward, he pointed his left arm towards Hanabi but his gaze met that of Shadow. Her blade on Hanabi's neck.

"If anyone moves, she dies. Ghost, you have been marked as a threat by New Himuka, I will eliminate you and all others that oppose them"

Shadow said as Ghost had already planned his movements, he knew that saving Hanabi was more important than anything else and sighed before making his move, he simply took a step back giving Shadow a false sense of control. Shadow pulled her blade closer to Hanabi's throat and Ghost finally snapped.

"Let. Her. Go"

Ghost said as he looked at Shadow, he didn't want to fight her but knew the effects of Personality Rehabilitation were too strong to resist. He raised his blade to cover his chest in a defensive position.

"If you wish to kill me... I shall defend myself, it is not too late to leave Shadow, do not make me do this"

Ghost said, he knew his words wouldn't reach his lost friend but he wanted them to know he still cared deeply about them, but Shadow didn't remember who Ghost was, those memories were ripped from her.

Shadow begun to attack Ghost with a flurry of thrusts as he deflected them away from his body only wanting to defend, Shadow thought of Ghost's hesitation to be weakness and pressed her attack not paying attention to Ghost's strategic movement, Ghost was slowly backing up to lure her into his own attacks.

As soon as Shadow thought Ghost wouldn't attack she let her guard down to which Ghost exploited by swiftly moving from defensive to offensive with large strides forward meeting her blade with his own swings, Ghost was parrying her blade away from her body as he jabbed her exposed sides with his Kunai before getting behind her while blocking one of her strikes. His blade cut cleanly and deeply into her back before Ghost threw his Kunai into the back of her, he knew that his once closest friend was no longer with him, it had been like that since the first strike had been dealt, he held Shadow in his arms as she softly cried as she tried apologising for her actions.

"It was not your fault... I promise you that these actions will not go unpunished... I am the one who failed you"

Ghost said as he closed Shadows eyes as her last breath left her body. He laid her to rest and paid his respects before slowly heading back to the hideout contemplating everything he believed, something didn't add up and he was determined to find out what was happening
