Training Exercises And A New Friendship

Ghost looked at the message for a few seconds and then closed the vision as Captain Seto entered the hideout. His attention was immediately drawn to Ghost as he stood there speechless. He heard of Ghost and knew his abilities in the field.

"You're Ghost? well I'd never had thought you'd be here... You're old team was disbanded so you're a lone fighter at the moment, but you could always join us"

Seto said as he offered Ghost his hand. Ghost stood there and took Seto's offer before looking at his arm, he shook his hand and then informed Seto he needed to talk with Major General Fubuki as he left, Seto and his Platoon sat down before awaiting orders as Hanabi and Tsugumi started to each other while Kagero and Seto conversed about other matters leaving Yuito to sit by himself, he didn't mind it as he closed his eyes, he was hoping Nagi would be alright despite his injury in the last battle.

Ghost and Fubuki's conversation uncovered several discoveries as they planned their next move, but Fubuki told him he was being resigned to a different Platoon.

"Ghost I need you in Kyoka's Platoon, they need additional support"

Ghost shook his head and then sighed before putting his hand on the back of his neck

"Negative sir, Captain Seto offered me a place within his team, I feel like my set of skills would be put to greater use within their team"

Ghost said as he looked at Fubuki dead in the eyes, Fubuki relented and allowed Ghost to join Seto's Platoon and he was dismissed. Ghost was intercepted by Luka as he left who teleported him away from the OSF HQ as the press had heard of Ghost's return

"Be careful, the press know that you are back to active service, they currently have their eyes on Yuito so you don't have much to worry about from the press... But you did go missing for an extended time with no explanation"

Luka said as Ghost nodded, the two started conversing about what happened during that time and Seto sent Ghost a message to meet everyone at Kikuchiba, a combat exercise was taking place and Seto wanted to see if Ghost still had his scouting ability, despite no one knowing what truly happened to him.

Once Ghost arrived at Kikuchiba Seto organised everyone into pairs;

Yuito and Hanabi.

They each split up and were to meet at the summit of Kikuchiba, Ghost and Tsugumi ran into the heaviest resistance but managed to clear their areas of Others, Seto and Kagero joined up with them and they agreed that Ghost should meet up with Hanabi and Yuito to ensure they were OK.

Ghost nodded and ran towards the summit where he saw Hanabi on the floor with a Major Other slowly crawling towards her. Yuito was on the other side dealing with several weaker Others but Hanabi's torch was knocked out of her hand, she stood up and looked up at the Other with a small tear leaving her eye as it darted towards her and lunged for the kill.

Ghost immediately darted towards Hanabi and drew his blade before throwing a single Kunai precisely at the Others Eye. His blade met the Others body and cut deeply as the Other stumbled backwards, he kicked Hanabi's Torch into his left hand spun it around before lighting the Other on fire before pointing towards Yuito.

"Help him"

Was all Ghost said as he darted towards the Other, his blade precisely striking weak points and forcing staggers, his Kunai pinpoint accurate on their targets.

He lunged at the Other before running along it's arm to get above it, his gaze was focused upon its weak spot as he looked at its head out of the corner of his eye before swinging his blade causing devastating damage, his Kunai piercing through the Other crippling it. He landed behind the Other and slowly walked in front of it as he stood in between Hanabi and the now immobile Other before swiftly thrusting his blade through its head, the flame consuming the muscles and surrounded area before it disappeared, Ghost's blade returned to normal and he sheathed it before adjusting his glove.

Hanabi fell to her knees in shock and Yuito ran towards her to make sure she was alright before turning to Ghost.

"What... What happened? What was that, your blade..."

Yuito had no idea what Ghost had done however he understood that Ghost had altered his blade to create a fire coating for additional damage, which was why the blade was made of carbon fibre and other alloys to give it additional integrity

" You both did as well as you could, you fought bravely and together, and for that you have my respect"

Ghost said as he knelt beside Hanabi as she looked at him, to Hanabi he saved her life. But to Ghost he was just protecting Hanabi as anyone in the team would, there was a reason OSF soldiers were called Scarlet Guardians.

Several Crows swarmed the sight with one of the announcers speaking about the fight they had just witnessed.

"What a spectacular victory for the Scarlet Guardians. Ghost, we have a lot of questions for you"

The Press said as Ghost shook his head, the battle was being broadcast to the citizens of New Himuka and several people saw Ghost's opening attack

"I have been ordered not to answer questions, you should direct your attention to Captain Seto, the Platoon commander"

Ghost said as the Crows directed their attention to Seto as Yuito and Ghost helped Hanabi to the hideout.

Several hours passed and Seto returned to the hideout before sitting down informing him that what he said about what happened wasn't for the cameras, he genuinely understood the paralysing fear Hanabi was in however she looked at Ghost and asked him to meet her in Suoh as she left.

Ghost raised his hand slightly and then looked at Yuito before asking him how to deal with Hanabi.

"Don't worry about Hanabi, she's the kindest person I know, you'll love her, she's the opposite of you, lively, outgoing"

Yuito said as Ghost got up and walked around Suoh. Hanabi was waiting by Sumeragi tomb and the two started walking around Suoh while talking about the OSF, why they joined and what their goals were, however Hanabi was quite surprised they had several things in common, but Ghost had a reason to stay in the OSF.

"So, you like working in the OSF so you can protect people who can't protect themselves?"

Hanabi asked as she leaned slightly closer to Ghost, her smile being genuine and her eyes showed she was interested.

"Yes, being able to defend yourself is one thing, protecting others is another, it shows you are willing to risk your life for another"

Ghost said as the two learned slightly more about each other, Hanabi seemed to grow an interest about Ghost despite his closed off and near silent persona, she knew that he was someone who would put their life on the line for someone else, it made her feel somewhat safer to be around him.
