He waited patiently.
No matter how long he waited, his father's boat never got to the dock.
His hand in his mother's, he started to tear up and put his head down.
"When will he come back?"
His mother could not tell. Not yet. He was too young.☾
She looked into the distance. She saw the boy and his mother, looking sad—scratch that, there must be a much more clever word.
Longingly.
Longingly into the miles and miles of the blue, frothy waters of Montauk, waiting for something to show up.

"I-I'm waiting for my dad," He scowled as he said the last word, like it left a sour taste in his mouth. "But it doesn't seem like he'll be coming soon." His messy hair with tufts of curls slightly covered his face, but she could tell he was about to cry.
She didn't know why she did it, but she hugged him.. She hugged the boy with sea green eyes which complimented his black hair and tan skin. Immediately, her guts started to feel mushy. She wasn't the type to get mushy, but she felt as if she had to. His mother, weakly smiled.
The girl then said,
"My name is Annabeth Chase"
