(Sayaka's POV)
I grabbed some folders, organizing them appropriately. By this time I would usually be waiting for Madam President to get here, but today I decided I should just complete my work instead of being what Midari likes to call, "a simp". In all honesty, I'm tired. I haven't slept much with all of the work I had been subjected to the past couple of weeks. And of course, I'm sure Kirari had taken notice to this, but whether or not she cared was beyond me. Not that I don't care, of course. I definitely do. But worrying about those things was something I decided not to do. Not now. With the elections taking place, I didn't have time to sit around and worry about something so minimal.I was dusting off a shelf when I heard the large golden door open, and someone walked in.
It was Madam President.
Seeing her definitely brightened my mood a bit, but still, I did not feel well. Despite that, I smiled at her.
"Good morning Kaichou." I say, glancing over at the girl. She smiles back, taking a seat in her large presidential chair.
"Good morning Sayaka."
She replies.I turn back around to continue my work, but I feel her eyes on me. I get nervous, so I turn around.
"Is.. uh.. is something wrong?"
I ask, smiling awkwardly. She simply shakes her head, sighing a bit.
"Hm.. not necessarily. Though, I must say.."
She stops for a moment, observing me.
"I am quite concerned for you. You seem to be sick.. perhaps, you need a day off?"
She proposes, trying to smile, but I can see the concern on her face. She isn't too good at hiding it in these types of situations."Huh..?! A-A day off? I.. no, no. I could never do that! You'd be alone, and-!"
I mentally facepalm myself.
Goodness Sayaka, you're making a fool out of yourself.."My, my.. now, who ever said that I would be alone?"
She smirks, making direct eye contact with me.I gulp.
"But..."
At this point I'm just confused. What on earth is she talking about?"It only makes sense for me to be with you during these troubling times, am I correct?"
She makes eye contact again, that sly smirk still plastered onto her pale face.I sigh.
"Well, I suppose that is true, yes.."
I didn't mean to sigh out loud, oops. I guess my thoughts were getting to me here. You see, I have liked.. well, no, loved- Kirari for a long time. A LONG TIME. And yet, after everything we've done together, the dates, the sleepovers.. (don't ask.) and everything else..
She still referred to me as
"her secretary".
I'm sure she knows of my feelings and would probably love to hear me tell her, as she seems to find me being embarrassed.. rather amusing.Ah, I'm rambling.
Anyways. Yeah.
It seems I, Sayaka Igarashi, have been "secretary-zoned"."Sayakaaaa..."
she mumbles, poking my face.Snapping back into reality, I feel my face heat up. She's inches away from my face.
I can feel her breath on my face.
She seems to notice me staring at her lips, as she chuckles and pats my head, getting up.
"I almost thought you'd passed out."
she giggles, sitting back in her desk."Right.."
I mumble, fixing the folders that had fallen down earlier.Kirari chuckles a bit before getting up and grabbing my shoulder.
"Sayaka, for the sake of your health... please, take a break. And rest, too."I sigh.
"But my work.. your work, too. Who's..."Before I can finish, Ririka, Kirari's twin, walks in.
"Good morning, you two. I see you're already heading off, Hm?"
Mary follows in behind her, her arms crossed.Kirari chuckles, shaking her head.
"We're finishing up some things first. But yes, we are leaving soon."I think for a moment. Then it clicks. She had planned this.. so she was worried about me...
I smile.Kirari stands up.
"Sayaka.."
she mumbles.I perk up, immediately answering.
"Y-Yes?"Kirari motions towards a stack of papers on the desk.
"Do show Ririka what needs to be done. Then we will be leaving."
She replied, taking a sip of her tea."R-Right, of course! So, basically, uh.. just do these here on the top. If it requires her signature, then do not worry about it."
Ririka nods, sitting down in the presidential chair, motioning for Mary to come beside her.
"It shall be done. Now, you two, please, enjoy your break."
No-one could tell, but she was smiling under the mask. She was glad that Kirari was taking a break for once.. she deserved it.(A/N): heyyy guys. Sorry I haven't been writing, life's been pretty wild lately💀
I'll try to update every week or so if I can, but I'll probably forget again
