The sun shown softly through the closed bedroom blinds, Ethan hated when the shun shone straight into his eyes and woke him up.

Only thing was, that Ethan wasn't there. Nor was Lukas, or Max, or even Oliver. Karl lay by his lonesome in the large bed, the blankets over his head as he cried in his sleep.

You see, he and Ethan had gotten into a very heated argument about Karl's work. Ethan smacked his husband and set him off, which resulted in Ethan telling the pups that they were going on a little vacation.

That brings us now to the country side of Texas, where Ethan was raised. The young man carried the sleepy 4 year old Oliver out of the truck and he kissed his fluffy brown hair.

The two blonde twins exhasutedly followed their mother by holding onto his pant legs. "You guys get much sleep in the car?" Ethan asked, watching both of the boys frown and rub their sleepless eyes.

"Don't worry, babes..." he smiled sadly as he led them inside the cool house. He set Oliver down since he liked to have a sniff around New places and Ethan popped his back with a high pitched groan.

"Mmm, you're so tense here, babe...", a familiar deep and dark voice ran all the way up Ethan's body like it was electricity bolts, making the lycan shiver. "K-Karl...?" He whispered in terror.

"Unfortunately, no. But I am your imagination~" his husband's voice chuckled darkly as Ethan began to sweat. That's right. He had left his medication in the cabinet above the sink in his and Karl's en suite.

Ethan sneezed into his handkerchief and stuffed it back into his Jean pocket before he began to walk around the house, it wasn't horrible. A little dusty but Ethan had experienced wayyy worse.

He opened the back door to reveal a spacious back garden. Ethan couldn't help smiling as he watched the two twins run outside excitedly, their little brother following after, yipping and chirping delightfully.

As the pups played outside, Ethan carried their stuff in from the truck. Two fold out beds went on the living room floor, he had a little cooking station in the corner of the kitchen and two trunks of clothes.

Ethan had also brought a special first aid kit invented by Karl if the boys' Lycan abilities took control or if they attacked a human. Ethan was hoping that the break would only be a week or even two. But it was looking to be a lot more than that.

He set up a chair on the back garden porch to watch his sons and he smiled widely, Lukas was rolling around in the green grass with Oliver while Max dug excitedly in the unused flower bed. Ethan was beginning to think that this place would be perfect to raise the three of them.

The boys had never went outside much in the village due to the horrible and blistering cold. Ethan wondered what Karl would think if he saw them now, "Those little rascals." Ethan's imaginative Karl chuckled from a chair beside Ethan.

Karl was holding a beer can and only leg was crossed over the other, he looked so relaxed and happy watching the three boys. When in fact, Karl was not one bit happy.

He kept losing control of his full Lycan, especially in his sleep. He would wake up most mornings to shredded bedsheets and his pillow soaked in drool. Karl would most days not even get out of bed, and even if he did, it was to go and try kill himself, which never succeeded.

He only wished that Ethan had told him where they were staying, he just wanted to know for sure if his boys were safe or not. He lay curled into tiny ball as he used his sharp claws to gently scrape around his back and around his shoulders, something that Ethan would do for him whenever he was scared or stressed.

Ethan's stay in texas wasn't easy at first at all, Oliver kept having tantrums and crying because he missed his daddy, and it was bad enough having these tantrums at home. If he had one in the supermarket or in another public space, who knows what his abilities would allow him to do.

Ethan was shopping one day at the butchers, that's when he met Adam. He was a tall, pretty handsome and well kept young man from the area and he worked as a police officer. He was very friendly towards the frisky and skittish Ethan, who hadn't met another human who had some form of sanity for a good few years now.

He and Adam exchanged phone numbers and often hung out since the boys slept mostly through the day. It was now the second week of them taking a break from Karl, and even though Ethan hated to admit it, he liked being out here with other humans and having friends in the sunshine. Of course, he still missed his husband, but he was thinking of him less and less.

His hallucinations of Karl had come to an end, and he would often forget about that factory up on the snowy mountains. Karl had gained some composure after hearing countless lectures from his two sisters. He despised how mentally weak Ethan had made him.

Ethan was spending more and more time with Adam, Ethan was smiling so much now, and three weeks after leaving, he barely even thought about Karl. This was probably helped by the fact that he and Adam had kissed. Adam granted him security in the outside world. Adam moved in with Ethan and the boys a few months after dating and Ethan felt like he was on cloud 9.

One day, exactly 6 months from being away from Karl, there was a knock on the front door. Adam answered, but the man standing in the doorway did not care enough to look at Adam's face, he just shoved past him and Ethan who was sitting on the couch. This man stormed into the kitchen before he bent down, carefully picking up Oliver and he kissed all over the boy's face.

Ethan was disturbed to say the least, who was this man dressed in Dark clothes with a hood covering his face? "D-Dada!" Oliver cried out before he hugged tightly around Karl's neck. "Shhh, its okay..." the lycan whispered as he sobbed softly into the pup's curly hair. Lukas and Max looked up from where they were eating toasted sandwiches from the kitchen. "Papa?" They asked as they approached him.

Soon enough, the group of four were all holding each other and crying, while a selfish Ethan stood at the side with wide eyes and a gaping hole in his heart. "K-Karl-" He croaked, but he was brutally ignored. The Metal Lord stood up with his three pups in arms and he was smiling at them, "You ready to go home?" He asked, but this snapped something in Ethan.

"N-No!" He shouted, grabbing onto Karl's arm tightly with a low growl. "Put my boys down so we can have a nice chat in the kitchen..." he ordered as he tightened his grip, causing Oliver to whimper quietly and hold onto his father a little tighter. Karl and Ethan stared each other down violently before the Lycan placed all three boys down and he shoved past the omega to enter the small kitchen. "Maybe your boyfriend could join us." Karl spat.
