David raised his face. "Yeah, he did. Like every Forbes-listed business man, he had a lot of enemies and threats. Everywhere he goes, bodyguards escort him, you know that kind of thing," He answered.
"His greatest business adversary, Frank Stoneman, also his most annoying enemy." David added. "Frank Stoneman," Logan repeated. We both knew who that was. Frank Stoneman is the C.E.O of Stone Oil and Gas petroleum refining company. He has the third biggest Oil company in America. I imagined Hans and Stone to be competitors, not enemies.
"Yes, they both had toxic history," David said. "One time, they were both in a pompous gathering and they both vocally insulted themselves like they were kids," David said, chuckling between his words. "I really miss Hans," David's emotion sank all over again.
"What other enemies did he have?" I asked, slowly. David buried his face in his hands. "I'm not really in the headspace to start recalling them," he replied. "We are only trying to help Hans' family here, you know. This information you're giving us can be very useful," Logan reminded him. "So kindly help us and them," I tried to convince him to talk. David uncovered his face and spoke
"Rodrigo Kristobal; his uncle, Adebola Taiwo: his business partner, Queen Hargreaves; Victoria's bestfriend, Candy Lodge; his ex, Lincoln Gregory; his assistant employee, but to mention a few," David listed. He shaked his head and said he knew no threateners.
"How did Hans make enemies of these people?" I asked, impatiently. David made a reckoning face. "Well.." he started explaining. "Rodrigo Kristobal hated him for his spoilt nature. He was disrespectful to his uncle's and aunties. Apart from that, I don't think Rodrigo enjoyed the fact that his nephew was the heir to the Kristobal business empire."
"Adebola Taiwo and Hans began a business together about three years ago. It was a company that manufactures soft drinks. But, because of the greedy nature of Hans, he wanted to take total control and own all of the shares of the success-growing company. He tried to buy the unwilling Adebola's share by all means. Means that Adebola didn't like. He got mad when he found out Hans' shady tricks and then destroyed the whole business by himself. The business his grandfather started. Hans on the other hand, started another soda production company with eighty-nine percent of Adebola's soda recipe." He explained.
"Froshz soft drink?" Logan asked. "Yes, Froshz," David answered. I love Froshz, everyone does. Low sugar but very sweet. Now that I heard it's recipe was stolen, I got this aftertaste of bitterness in my mouth.
"Queen Hargreaves and Hans have been enemies since high school. Since when Hans once took advantage of her. Queen got pregnant but her family force her to abort the baby and focus on her education. In the process of abortion, She lost her womb," David took a pause.
Damn! Hans did bad things in his life, who wouldn't want to kill him? "I am so surprised to see her still being friends with Victoria. I mean, her and Victoria are friends till this day," David added.
"Candy Lodge and Hans became enemies ever since College. He promised her that he would marry her but after being in a relationship with him for five years, he dumped her on her birthday and within a one minute conversation. It was so crazy that even I was wondering what possessed Hans to just break up with her," David continued.
"Lincoln Gregory, his assistant manager of K.O.G," he shortened Kristobal Oil and Gas to it's initials. "I'm not really sure about what happened between them but it was something about money. I think Lincoln tried to steal from Hans. He was caught and I heard was recently just released from prison," David ended. I and Logan made eye contact.
