Mariah and I sit in the alley. As I said earlier, I only go to school every other day. Mariah and I have the whole day to ourselves. Or so we thought... My mom did not know I was here and if she knew she probably wouldn't care. Mariah and I talk. I can really be myself with her. Then all of a sudden I hear footsteps behind us. I turn around to see Bryan, Abbey's boyfriend, as he walks up behind me.
"What do you want?" Mariah asks
He steps towards us and I immediately feel intimidated and scared. He prepares himself to punch me, but then another boy comes.
"Hey leave them alone!" He yells.
"Whatever," Brian laughs as he runs off.
"Thanks," I say as he helps us up. Maraih says that she has to go because her mom is expecting her from "school" so it's just me and.......wait I don't even know this guys name.
"Hey, I'm Aubrey, that was amazing, ya know how you helped us. Cause I really didn't want to get beat up AGAIN! O.M.G did I just say that aloud. I really need to stop talking."
"It's cool, my name's Zander, and no one as beautiful as you deserves to be pushed around. Anyone decent would have done the same," He smiles his sweet, handsome, smile. We walk around together until sunset.
"I um gotta go um home to um my mom" I say
He leans in and our lips touch. He smells of a sweet, hot summer day. I can feel safe in his embrace, like no one can hurt me. It feels like the best moment of my life. I float home to my bed and fall upon it. Wow, Wow!
