(Eddie's pov)
Worrying drives me insane. I have never worried quite like today. I had been suspended from school, which wasn't the problem. The fact that I couldn't be there to support Heather while she might have been in the office with Jason is what worried me.
I had to return to the school after the day had ended to do my after school detention. This feeling of anxiety wouldn't leave me stomach, but I pushed through the hour. I had walked out of the school to the sun setting over the hills and forest landscape. I headed towards the van and hopped inside. I sat there for a moment. Should I go see her? I am gonna see her. I started the engine and drove to Heather's house. I didn't realize how close she had lived to the school, I'll save that information for later. I smirked at myself as I pulled up to the house.
I walked up to the door and knocked. I was nervous. I don't get nervous. I blew my breath into my hand to smell it, good enough.
"Hello, who are you?"
"I'm Eddie." I went to shake his hand, her father hesitated than shook mine, "Is Heather here?"
"Heather!" Her father yelled into the house.
I stood there awkwardly. I heard footsteps run down the stairs.
"What?" Heather looked annoyed, then she saw me. She smiled, and walked down the rest of the stairs to greet me at the door, "Hi Eddie, come in."
"Is that okay with you sir?" I asked before even trying to enter.
"I have my ears and eyes on high alert... Eddie." He mimicked animal ears behind his own, then he smiled and made an opening for me to walk through the door.
I walked through and gave Heathers father a nod of my head in respect. Heather and I headed up to her room.
"Keep the door open three inches!" Her father yelled from down stairs.
"Okay dad!" Heather yelled down. She shut the door and laughed.
I made my way to her bed and sat down, she down next to me.
"Deja vu." Heather said. She looked at me and smiled.
"What did you say?"
"It's like deja vu, this moment."
She was right. I didn't mind, just being in the moment with her, it was perfect. I made myself a bit more comfortable by kicking off my shoes at the end of her bed, and put my hands behind my head and leaned back. I eyed her to come join me, she got up and joined me on the other side of the bed. Heather leaned on me. She cuddled me. Her hair smelt of vanilla and generic shampoo, it was cute.
"Today was so bad..." Heather sighed deeply.
"Shoot."
She got off me and sat criss cross and faced me, "I was at school today and got called down to the office at the beginning of first and Jason and I had a talk with Mr. Murphy. I blacked out for a couple hours and went home." She could barely keep eye contact while she was saying that.
I sat up and joined her, I put her hands in mine, "Sweetheart... how are you doing now?" I knew that my worrying would have a point to it.
"Yeah, I'm okay now. I slept and it helped a lot."
"Good good. I'm glad."
I rubbed her shoulder in comfort then brought that hand to her cheek, she nuzzled her cheek deeper into my hand. She then looked into my eyes, her crystal blue eyes. We leaned in at the same time and kissed. I ran my hands through her hair as her hands wondered around my chest. The kiss was passionate.
I have never actually kissed someone before Heather, in fact, I hadn't even been in a relationship. Something about the chemistry between the two of us lit up the room. Nothing could top this feeling. But something was getting in the way. Jason.
"I can't stay long, I'm sorry. I just wanted to check up on you. I was really worried all day. I just care a lot about you and want you happy." I had decided right then and there what I had to do.
I hugged Heather tightly and for a long time, I wish it didn't have to end. She seemed sad, but I knew this was the only right thing to do, to be with her, no distractions.
"I'll see you later, give me your number so I can call you." She smiled at me and walked to her dresser to grabbed her notepad. I wrote me number and also wrote I'll make everything okay, I promise.
I am going to kill Jason Carver.
Hey, I know pretty short chapter but like bro, I got so much planned you have no idea. Stay tuned! Much love💗
