A night in the Dark Pyramid

Mira's POV.

I was in my room still wondering what I should do and how I could go back home. I began to feel a bit sick so I decided to speak to Sekhmet.

At Sekhmet's Laboratory.

"Hmm. It's seems that your powers don't function properly without the jewel of Bast.''

"What happens if I don't find it."

"You can't live without the gem . You have at least a year to find the gem."

"Thank you Sekhmet."

I walked to the throne room where Exaton was sitting on the throne speaking with one of his informants. After they finished their conversation, I saw Exaton glaring at me. He ordered everyone to leave the room. I came out of my hiding spot. I walked closer to Exaton scared if he would scold me for spying on him.

'' Are you alright. You seem abit frightened."

"I'm okay.... Sorry for spying on you."

"It's alright. You seem abit nervous. Is everything alright."

" My powers haven't been working . And I need the gem. If I don't find it within a year I'll die."

Exaton looked at me and pulled my chin up facing him. He pulled me closer holding my waist tightly.

I burst into tears. I didn't want to be a burden on him. My father hid the gem. He wanted me to die. He didn't care about me or Umi. He let her die, and married that crazy woman he had an affair with behind her back while she was ill.

Suddenly I felt Exaton pulling me closer to his chest. I began to cry , not because of anger, but because I didn't want to lose Exaton. The only person who loved me.

"Shshshshssh. It's alright my love. I'll always protect you no matter what. "

He pulled me in for a quick kiss. I didn't want to break away from the kiss. But we had to catch our breaths.

"I'll come join you tonight. Get some rest ."

"Okay."
