Quite possibly the worst thing about In the Soop, besides missing Hiro, was not being able to gossip with Iseul. So as soon as Makaira gets the chance, she practically sprints up to her best friend's classroom.
She doesn't even get the chance to sit down before everything comes spilling out of her.
"Wait." After getting the breakdown of everything that has happened recently, Iseul pauses with her chopsticks halfway to her mouth. "So now you're telling me he's not an asshole?"
"Iseul, he helped me take care of Hiro without thinking twice about it. And then during the vacation we.." Makaira sighs, struggling to put her thoughts into words. "..for the first time, I could see why the universe put us together. I genuinely enjoyed spending time with him."
Her words make a creepy smirk form on her friend's face.
"Stop looking at me like that."
"You like him!" Says Iseul, almost in an accusatory manner.
"Shut up, I do not." Makaira scoffs, briefly glancing down at her phone.
"Is that why you keep checking your phone to see if he has texted you?" Those words clearly catch Makaira off guard, judging by the way she can't even form a reply. "I was just bluffing with that one but I'm right, aren't I? Ugh, you guys are just adorable together."
"You haven't even seen us together." Makaira deadpans with a roll of her eyes.
"I don't need to." Iseul grins. "He seems like a good guy and I know you like him because you look like you really want to murder me right now."
"You're right, I do want to murder you right now." Makaira smiles sarcastically at her friend. "Great observation."
Before they can bicker any further, the music teacher's phone begins to ring. "Shit."
"What? Who is it?" Iseuk asks.
Makaira turns her phone around, showing her the name on the screen. Devil's Spawn.
"I can't believe Chaewon has the nerve to call you right now. Doesn't she know you're at work?"
She groans in frustration. "It's not Chaewon, it's Yoongi oppa!"
"Well then answer it!"
After cursing under her breath, Makaira answers the call and presses the phone to her ear. "H-hello?"
"Hi. Sorry, are you in the middle of teaching right now? Am I interrupting you?"
"No, I'm on break right now actually. You're fine."
"Great. Well I wanted to know if you would like to come over later. You know, so we can heal and stuff."
"Okay, I can come after I pick up Hiro from school."
