"in another world"

Y/n's POV

I woke up at 6:30 and put on some comfortable clothes. I had a small breakfast and waited for Nishinoya to pick me up. He knocked on my door and I opened it.

"Morning" I yawned. "Hey Y/n" he smiled at me.

I could tell that he was excited.

"So are you going to tell me where we're going?" I asked him. "I said it was a surprise" he replied to me. "If I end up dead somewhere, I'll become a ghost and haunt you" I said to him. "I wouldn't dare" he replied to me.

We soon approached a forest.

"Oh hell no..." I said. "Y/n I swear, you'll like it" he tried convincing me. "That's what they all say" I replied to him. "What?" he asked me. "Clearly you've never watched a horror movie" I said. "Okay if you don't like it, you can leave at anytime" he convinced me finally. "Deal" I replied to him.

We stepped foot into the forest and he was right, I liked it. The forest was so beautiful and just so refreshing. The trees covered the sky and it looked like something out of a book. I felt like I was in another world.

"How do you know about this place?" I asked him. "My grandpa used to take me here all the time and we used to fish" he explained to me. "Your grandfather sounds like a really nice person" I said to him.

He let out a scoff. I turned my head and looked at him confused.

"He's really different once you meet him" he explained. "How so?" I asked him. "You'd have to ask Tanaka" he replied trying to avoid the question. "hm" I said. "So how are things with Takeda Sensei?" he asked me. "I guess it's less lonely but I'm still getting used to living with him" I explained. "How have you really been?" he asked me. "I'm close to 100% but not exactly there" I explained. "That's good" he replied to me. "I stopped getting headaches but I have sleep paralysis now" I went on. "That's scary" he said. "It is but I'm getting used to it" I tried to make it seem better than what it was. "This is nice" Nishinoya said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "You're actually opening up to me" he said. "I guess I am" I said.

We found a spot next to a stream and sat down. There were a few butterflies flying around us and every now and then, there would be a fish swimming.

"Why didn't you wanna tell me anything about yourself?" Nishinoya asked me. "Well...for starters, I am Ittetsu's cousin and I thought that I'd be leaving Miyagi soon" I explained. "You didn't wanna live in his shadow" Nishinoya said. "I didn't wanna ruin his image. We're so different and it would've been problematic" I said. "But you've changed" he said. "I guess you're right" I said before leaning on his shoulder.

I really wasn't a morning person and I could have just fallen asleep right there.

Nishinoya's POV

Y/n leaned on my shoulder and I felt myself getting flustered. We watched the water flow down the stream and a fish jumped out of the water. Y/n looked at me and I could tell that an idea popped into her head.

"You think you can catch a fish?" she asked me. "I'm not sure" I replied to her. "So you're saying the fish is faster than you?" she asked. "No, no, not at all I can probably outrun it" I said.

Y/n let out a laugh. I couldn't help but admire her smile.

"That was stupid wasn't it?" I asked her. "Yeah but I'm not surprised" she said.

Emotional daaamage I thought to myself.

"You know what" I said before getting up. "Nishinoya what are you doing?" she asked me nervously. "Catching a fish" I said to her before walking into the stream. "Nishinoya, you don't have to do this" Y/n tried talking me out of this. "Too late" I said to her.

I watched her for a moment as she looked at me with worry and disappointment in her eyes but now I was determined to catch that fish. I stood in the stream and watched the fish that swam by. I slowly dropped my hand into the water and then pulled it out quickly.

"Holy crap you actually caught one" Y/n stood up.

She then took off her shoes and walked into the stream with me. Y/n pulled out her phone and we took a selfie. Right before she pressed the button, I put the fish's lips on her cheek and she screamed. It was the funniest thing.

"You idiot" she yelled at me. "Lemme see the picture" I said to her.

Y/n showed me the picture and it was ten times funnier. The fish was on her cheek and her face was just hilarious.

"What if I dropped my phone?" Y/n asked me. "Uhhhh I would hope that it's waterproof" I replied to her. "You really piss me off but for some reason I can't get rid of you" Y/n said to me.

I didn't know how to respond.

"Okay put the fish down, it's getting cold in this stream" Y/n said to me.

I lead Y/n out of the forest and walked her home.

"You know, I didn't hate this" she said to me. "Oh since you had fun, do you wanna go to karaoke with the team tomorrow" I asked Y/n. "Sure" she said to me before waking into Takeda Sensei's house.

Y/n's POV

"Hey kiddo, how was it?" Ittetsu asked me. "Nishi made me kiss a fish" I said without any context. "I guess that's better than robbing a bank or something" he didn't know what to say. "But in all honesty, I had fun" I said to him. "I'm happy to hear that" he said to me.
