Eddie hands me a small box, poorly wrapped, "Happy Birthday Lottie, I'm sorry if it's a shitty gift, I didn't really have the fund to afford anything um... nice"

I frown smile, "I'm sure it will be amazing." I open the box, Eddie's anxiously biting his bottom lip to see my reaction.

A glimmer of sunshine reflects off of the metal surface. I take it out, the box was holding a dull, chipped silver ring that had an engraving of an oak log wrapping around the band. It was one of Eddie's that I had seen him wearing.

"You said you really liked it once so I um, tried to clean it off the best I could to give to you."

I smile, looking at the ring. It was too big to fit my fingers, but I took off my small silver chain necklace and put it on the chain.

I look up at him and say, "It's perfect Eddie." He lets out a sigh of relief and smiles.
