Chapter 8 - Rough night

Carina's pov:

I woke up in the middle of the night to a loud noise in the kitchen. Normally I would have settled back in bed but having an unstable daughter at home I couldn't carry on sleeping.

Silently I got out of bed and turned on the light in the corridor, hoping to not wake Maya.

"Merda, Skylar!", I whispered cursing in Italian.

"What are you doing and why are you bleeding?", I asked my daughter reaching for her bleeding hands to take a look but it was too dark to really see something.

"I-I was just g-getting my-myself a glass of w-water and-and it shattered and-and I tried to clean it b-but the g-glass...", she whimpered, not even finishing her sentence, seeming helpless in this situation.

"Okay let's head to the bathroom and I'm gonna get the medical kit alright?", I said calmly.

"But-But what a-about the-the shards?", she cried, pointing to the floor.

"We'll clean this after I got your hand to stop bleeding!", and with that, I softly took her other hand and led her to the bathroom.

I got the medical kit and sat Skylar on the edge of the bathtub.

"Lucky you! No stitches are needed! But it'll hurt when I remove those 2 shards in your hand.", I told her and she nodded in response.

"Ouch!"

"I told you!", I chuckled because of her sensitivity and kept going.

I was glad that her accident was only little and easy to handle especially for a doctor but it hurts every time when I see my daughter in pain.

We went back into the kitchen and cleaned all the mess up faster than expected.

"Go back in your bed. I'll fill you up a new glass of water and bring it to you in a few minutes.", I said shushing Sky back in her room.
Glancing at the clock I realized that it was only 2 am in the morning.

"Did you wake up or were you awake till now?", I asked my daughter sitting down on the edge of her bed leaving the glass of water next to it.

She stared on the ceiling without giving me an answer.

"Skylar...", I sighed.

"I couldn't sleep...and I don't know if I can sleep...", she whispered with tears in her eyes.

"Okay, come one...", I said standing up.

Skylar gave me a confused look.

"Let's go Bella, you can sleep with me and Maya!"

"No mom, I'm good, I'm fine I swear! Go and sleep with Maya alone!", she stated.

I rolled my eyes on her but I know that she felt uncomfortable with sleeping in my bed with Maya and me so I let her stay.

"If you need anything or anyone Sky, please come and get me."

"Mhh, fine. Goodnight mom, love you.", she said fast to get me out of her room which made me chuckle.

"I love you too" I whispered back and returned to mine and Mayas room where I silently crawled back into our bed.

"Is everything okay?"

"Maya! You scared the hell out of me!", I replied breathing heavy.

"Why are you awake? Did I wake you?"

"No Carina I just have a light sleep, don't worry! Is everything okay with Sky? Why were you up?"

"She just wanted to get a glass of water and it shattered. Nothing serious!"

"No blood?", she asked me.

"A lot of blood!"

"How come you say it's nothing?", she said shocked.

"Two shards in her hand but as I said, nothing serious!!", I said chuckling because of her shocked impression.

A yawn escaped her.
"We should go back to sleep now!", I stated.

"Don't you think we should do something else now that we are up already?", she smirked at me.

"No no no, I'd love to but my daughter is literally next to us so no!"

"Oh come on baby, I'm gonna be quiet!", she begged.

"I know that but i'm not gonna be quiet Maya so we'll do this another time.", I said trying not to give in because she gave me her cutest pout.

"Now go back to sleep or I'll leave you for tonight and sleep with Skylar.", I teased her.

"You're such an evil girlfriend Mrs.Deluca!"

I chuckled slightly and placed kisses all over her well trained body then drifted off to sleep.

a/n: sorry!! that's a damn short chapter but i thought before you get nothing you'll get this one😅 I have A LOT going on in school and have a lot of dance shows lately so it's hard for me to continue this story so I better carry on with shorter parts😅🙏🏼💪🏼
