eric pov-

"oh it'll be perfect," i followed cory out of the elevator and into the hallway, "now all i ask is that when you meet jack you just be yourself and whatever you do do not flash that big phony plastic cheesy grin of yours." i grin down at the finger pointing at my face. "no it really turns people off." i dropped my grin as cory opened the door and lead me into the apartment.

"hey guys." 

i quickly turned my attention to inside and saw a smiling boy, my age, with a red sweater on, "jack, how are you, love the place." and cory calls my smile cheesy, his tone is practically mozzarella, "it's not an avocado fridge but nice." cory shakes his hands up and down, holding up his two thumbs, a big cheesy grin on his face.

"hey eric?"

"yeah." i answer jack, who is pointing a finger at me, what is it with people and pointing fingers. "nice to meet you." he lifts up his hand which i accept, "yeah nice to meet you too jack."

"you smoke?"

"no, you smoke?"

"no."

i nod my head, gosh it's awkward. i look around a bit, noticing the upper level "you like pets?"

"nah, i have a hard enough time keeping track of myself, you?"

"yeah, i'm not a pet guy, i got four kids though."

cory started to laugh really obnoxiously, both jack and i looked at him, me with a more of a 'shut up before i shut you myself' kinda look. "what, i thought it was funny." we all sat in silence for what felt like forever, thankfully someone broke that awkward silence, a very beautiful silence may i add. "hey jack, who's here?"

i looked up at the upper level to see a gorgeous girl emerge, she had long brown hair and tanned skin, it all complemented her deep brown eyes. i stared at her as she came down to stand next to us. "oh yeah guys, this is y/n, she uh lives here too." 

cory reached forwards to shake her hand but i beat him to it, "hey there, eric matthews, nice to meet you." i sent her my best smile and thankfully she smiled back, accepting my hand in her small and so very very soft hand. "nice to meet you eric, and i'm guessing cory." thankfully cory just nodded and didn't open his big mouth.

"favourite colour on three."

jack interrupted, "go-"

"one, two three-"

"blue."

all three of us said at the same time, we pointed at each other and i caught y/n's beautiful smile. "yeah, nice to meet you alright." jack smiled at me, patting my back quickly before moving to the upper levels. now it was just cory, y/n and i. "yeah it was nice to meet you eric." 

y/n followed after her brother, stopping once more and turned around, "consider maybe staying with us will you." she smiled at me before disappearing.

"i don't like him."

"eric what are you doing to me, we had a deal." cory chased after me, "you and jack are so perfect for each other you should be married." 

"i'm not ready."

"w-what about y/n, you only said him. i mean come on, you gotta like her. she's hot too!" i shrugged at that, he wasn't wrong.

"why are you trying to ruin my whole year?" cory pointed at me, again. what is it with him and pointing at people? "well guess what, i'm not gonna let you because starting now you do not exist, you are invisible to me."

i stood in the doorway as cory tried to get through. "please, move." 

i let cory past and i turned back to the apartment one last time and when i looked on the top level, i saw y/n, she was holding a blanket and cushions. she caught my eye and i almost blushed when she smiled at me.

i don't mind jack, but i'll take his sister.
