Chapter 05

Aurelia's POV
Just to catch you up to speed about what happened over the past few weeks.

Leah had taken the girls (Rachel, Rebecca, Emily, Claire, Thalia, Phoebe, Cora, Sarah, Sue, Kim, and I) dress shopping for the wedding and we ran into Bella and her 'friends' wheelie they went dress shopping for prom.

Bella made me go book shopping with her, and afterwards we were attacked and nearly gang raped. But thank god Edward swooped in........... and only saved Bella. I dealt with the six men by myself thanks to my self defense training, taser, and pepper spray.

Edward and Bella started dating shortly after that. Which resulted in the rest of the Cullens, as from Alice, to distance themselves from them.

Since they've been dating Edward's been sneaking into our room to either watch Bella sleep or cuddle with her. Which would be sweet, if it also wasn't creepy and an invasion of my privacy!

Jacob and Emily are still beating around the bush. Leah actually asked Jake to walk Emily down the aisle just to get them alone time together so they will hopefully ask each other out soon.

I think that's everything.

Currently it's Sunday. Phoebe, Damon, and Charlie are cleaning guns on the dining room table while drinking soda or beer. Cora, Thalia, and I are cooking dinner with desert.

Bella suddenly comes downstairs. She enters to find Charlie cleaning a rifle. He starts to say hello but she just blurts out "I have a date with Edward Cullen" He suddenly looks like he's having an aneurysm.

"He's too old for you" Charlie states first, 'And he's someone that Charlie disapproves of and we all dislike' I mentally added.

"We're both juniors. I thought you liked the Cullens" Bella argues "All the Cullens except for Edward and Alice" I pipe up. Cora placed a hand on my shoulder to silently tell me to stay out of it. Bella sneers at me but turns to Charlie as he says "And I thought you weren't interested in any of the boys in town" "Edward doesn't live in town, and it's in the early stage and --whatever, he's outside right now."

We all give her bewildered looks. "Now? He's out there?" Cora asks fretting and Bella nods "He wants to meet you. Officially" "Good" Charlie says and he cocks the rifle in mock-seriousness. Bella flinches and quickly adds "Be nice, okay? He's... important" I scoff and roll my eyes before returning my attention to the chicken that needs to be shredded for the pasta.

Charlie gives his daughter a reassuring nod... then she opens the door to reveal Edward in a parka and gloves "Chief Swan. I wanted to formally introduce myself. I'm Edward" Edward extends his hand. Charlie reluctantly takes it, but grunts a hello, resisting him. This makes me smirk "Ms. Stone-" he starts but Cora corrects him in the mad mom tone "Mrs. Swan, Edward, don't forget it and don't make that mistake again" Cora then turns back to her homemade pasta.

Edward awkwardly nodded and Bella scowls at us while Charlie stared lovingly at Cora. Edward turns to me and says "Aurelia" I glanced at him and give him a bored once over before turning back and saying "Edward. How's Mrs. Cullen? And Rosalie and Jasper?" He respectively answers "They're all good. I'll be sure to tell them that you said hello" I give a quick nod and say "Good boy."

Everyone resists the urge to laugh while Bella steals me with a haughty glare. Edward then greets the triplets respectfully before turning to Charlie and saying "I won't keep Bella out late
tonight. We're just going to go play baseball with my family" we all turn to look at Edward in bewilderment "Bella's going to play baseball?" I can tell that Bella's equally surprised, but hides it.

"Yes, sir, that's the plan" Edward says "Well. More power to you, I guess" Charlie says unsurely. Edward then look me in the eyes and says "She'll be safe with me, miss, I promise" I hold him with a steely look. Everyone shifts as the room seems to grow colder "Don't make promises that you can't keep, Edward, it just makes you a liar. And I hate liars" I say in an icy tone that makes the cold one in question shiver.

He nods and says "I understand" in a whisper. I give him a stiff nod and say "Have Cinderella back before midnight. Otherwise she's sleeping outside" Edward nods again and says "Yes, ma'am" then leaves.

As Edward exits... Charlie holds Bella back "You got that taser that I gave you?" He asks making Bella look at him stunned "What?! No!" "Do you at least have the pepper spray?" Bella scoffs and says "Charlie..." then leaves.

Charlie and Cora cuddle while watching a baseball game on T.V. the triplets are upstairs getting ready for bed and I'm in the kitchen cleaning up when the door suddenly bursts open to reveal Bella, crying, and Edward, devastated "I said, leave me alone!" Bella yells out.

I immediately exit the kitchen and see the triplets peering over the landing to see what's going on "Go back to your room" I order as I quickly take in the scene with Charlie and Cora who are now standing "Bella, don't do this. Just think about it, please-!" Edward tries to plead with her but Bella cuts him off "Get out! It's over" She slams the door. Charlie is in shock, baffled, and concerned "Bella? What happened?" He asks like a lost puppy "I have to get out of this place. Out of Forks. I'm leaving. Now" is all she says before she runs upstairs.

Charlie stands there frozen while me and Cora go after her but not before reassuring Charlie that we'd talk to her. We hurry after her. We go to my shared room and knock on the door since it's locked "Bella....Did he hurt you?" Cora hesitantly asks "No! Just stay out of it!" Bella snaps "We can't do that, Bella. We're family now and in this family we take care of each other" I speak up "I never wanted y'all as my family!" She yells through the door "Least of all you Aurelia!"

I raise an eyebrow and say "Well I'm sorry that your father fell in love with my aunt and started a happy life with her like your mother did with Phil. It's all my fault. So why don't you come out and take your anger out on me. Not Charlie or Cora" Cora gives me a bewildered look of hurt and sadness "Just leave me alone, you monster!"

"Just tell us what happened, Bella. Did he break up with you?" Cora asks seeing that she clammed down with me "No. I broke up with him" Bella says surprising Cora and I "I thought you liked him?" Cora says confused while I remain silent "That's why I have to leave. I don't want this. I want to go home" Bella says as we exchanged looks.

'She's more like Renee than we thought. History is repeating itself...'

She suddenly opens the door to reveal Charlie.
We follow her as she carries her duffle and truck keys into the living room.Bella charges down the stairs with us following "Your mother's not even in Phoenix!" I argue "She'll come home. I'll call her from the road" Bella states heading for the door only to be cut off by Charlie.

"You can't drive home now. I'll take you to the airport in the morning" Charlie tries to compromise and pacify her but Bella shakes her head and says "I want to drive. I need time to think. I'll pull into a motel in a few hours" She's almost out the door but Charlie continues to blocks her "Bells, I know I'm not around much, but I can change that. We can more things together" he pleads as the familiarity of this situation registers.

She scoffs and says "Like watch more baseball on the flat screen? Or go to the Lodge? Same people, same steak, same berry cobbler every night? That's you, Charlie. Not me" I can see that, that hits Charlie hard. Cora reaches out for him as he takes a second to recover "Bella... I just got you back" he whispers heartbrokenly. My heart breaks and a deep hatred festers for Bella."And if I don't get out now, I'm going get stuck here like mom did" she says.

Charlie is stunned, wounded. She takes advantage of his shock, pushing past him out the door. Cora and I rush to Charlie's side as he slides to the floor and starts to cry. I look out the window and watch as Bella exits, heads to her truck. She doesn't look back and she doesn't care that she just broke whatever remaining ties she has with her father.

She just gained a new enemy and she isn't prepared for my wrath.
