(Y/n's POV)
I trudged up the hill towards the Madrigal's house, heaving in breaths as i quickened my pace. I had promised Mirabel i'd be there to babysit Antonio for 6:00 but i was cutting it fine, as it was 5:57 and i was still halfway up the hill.
I groaned out, pushing forward.
"Why does this have to be so tiring, dios mío.."

I finally reached the top of the hill, seeing Mira and the rest of her family looking very dressed up and smart.
Mirabel turned round and faced me, her eyes lighting up.
"You're here! I thought you weren't gonna show, y/n!" She rushed up to me and pulled me into a bear hug, which i returned.
"Sorry, sorry. I was taking my time up the hill.." I chuckled slightly and looked around.
"Where's Antonio?"
Mirabel turned round and looked at the rest of her family.
"He must be inside, feel free to go on in. I'll see you at 9:00, yeah?" The rest of the Madrigals began making their way down the hill as Mirabel hugged me.
"Alright, have fun Mira!" I called, waving them off.
I turned and headed inside, calling out for Antonio.
"Tonito? Where are you?" I looked round and climbed the stairs, walking past each door till i got to Antonio's.
Right before i could go inside i heard another door creak open. i snapped my head toward where the noise came from and immediately frowned.
Camilo's door slowly opened and he peeked his head out, looking round before he saw me staring right back at him. He came out from behind his door and crossed his arms, leaning on the doorframe.
"What are-," He coughed. "You doing here?" He coughed into his arm once more, looking extremely annoyed- or maybe unwell?
I raised my eyebrows.
"Looking after your little brother. Everybody else is out, remember? Plus why are you home, shouldn't you be out with them?"
He scoffed.
"I'm fine, just didn't want to go." He shrugged, looking away.
"Whatever you say, tonto." I walked into Antonio's room finally, hearing Camilo shout something back as i did.

(timeskip to a little while later)
"Y/n, Y/n look! Do you like the drawing i did?" He flapped the page around in my face, smiling widely.
I moved my head back so i wouldn't get a paper cut on my cheek and smiled slightly.
"It's beautiful, Tonito. You hungry at all?"
He nodded.
"Yeah, i'm kind of hungry." He looked back down at his paper.
"Can i have a mango, like i drew in my drawing? Pleaseee?" He looked up at me with pleading eyes.
I chuckled softly.
"Alright, i'll go and cut you some mango slices. You wait here, okay?" I stood up and made my way out of his room, admiring the beauty of it as i went.
I wandered down into the kitchen and grabbed a sharp knife along with the mango. I began cutting some of it, turning my head when i heard a noise.
"oh, it's you again." I turned back round and concentrated on what i was doing so i didn't hurt myself.
"Well, this is my- ahem, house." He patted his fist on his chest, seemingly trying to get a cough out. He sniffled quietly and made his way over to the sink, grabbing a glass to fill with water.
I shrugged.
"I may as well live here anyway." I reached for a bowl, placing it on the counter in front of me.
He snorted.
"Like we'd want you living here." He smirked and sipped his water, leaning against a chair.
I scoffed and began to speak, a sour look on my face.
"Camilo, everybody, and i'm not exaggerating when i say everybody in this household likes me except from you. So what you mean is you wouldn't want me living here." I squinted at him angrily and turned back round, putting the mango slices into the bowl.
"Well-," He let out a hoarse cough, going to drink some more of his water before he started coughing more. "Arghh.. One- COUGH second," He placed the water down and coughed more violently, sniffling.
"Are.. you alright?" I looked at him, concerned.
He nodded hastily, taking a large sip of water.
"Fine, f-fine. Just a cough." He looked anywhere but my direction, letting his hair fall over his face so as to cover it.
"You don't seem fine. Ever since earlier on when i first saw you, you seemed out of it. I couldn't tell if you were sick or just annoyed to see me." I leaned to one side slightly, one elbow leant on the counter behind me.
He chuckled through a cough.
"Is it possible to be both?" He finally looked at me.
I chuckled slightly and shook my head.
"You need to go rest, Milo." I watched him, slightly smiling.
He groaned and then paused, looking at me.
"Did you just call me Milo?" He stared at me, looking confused.
I raised my eyebrows after i realised i had in fact called him that, looking away.
"I.. uh. Yeah? It was an accident but.. yeah." My eyes flicked back up to his face, which had a wide smirk on it.
"Cute nickname, you should call me it more," He wheezed slightly and cleared his throat. "Often."
I rolled my eyes and grabbed the bowl, walking over to him. I grabbed his wrist and dragged him up the stairs, hearing him sniffle every so often behind me.
"Where are we going?" He coughed slightly again, still following me.
"Well, first i'm giving these to Tonito then you're going to rest."
He groaned yet again, dragging his feet as we walked.
"Stop being so over dramatic you big baby." I opened Antonio's door and walked in, setting the bowl on the table.
"Antonio, i'm just gonna help your brother i'll be a couple minutes!" I called out, turning round again to leave. Camilo was stood by the door, pouring.
"What?" I asked, eyeing him suspiciously.
"You called me a big bAby." His voice cracked slightly at the end. I felt my cheeks grow redder and i pushed past him in an attempt to hide my face, pulling him along with me.
"Yeah? Well you are one." I mumbled, opening the door to his room.
I ushered him in, making sure he laid down in his bed. I stood at the door with folded arms.
"Only get up if you really need to. Your
extremely ill, Camilo."
He frowned and shook his head.
"Not that bad, i'll be *WHEEZE*, fine!"
I grimaced and walked over to him, placing a hand on his forehead.

(Camilo's POV)
She stepped closer to me, looking concerned.
Why is she reaching out her hand toward me, what's she doing??
I felt my cheeks redden even more than they already were.
YOU CANNOT LET HER REALISE YOU LIKE HER, CAMILO.
The voice echoed through my head, knowing she'd never like me back.
I bit my lip and looked straight forward, not wanting to make eye contact.
"You're absolutely boiling, Camilo!" She screeched, moving her hand back.
I shrugged and laughed nervously.
"Yeah, i guess.."
She reached forward toward me and grabbed my ruana, pulling it off over my head.
I covered my face with my hair, placing a hand underneath my chin.
"I'm getting you some of your Tía's food. Maybe that'll help you." She turned toward the door and marched out, off to go find some of my aunt's food.
I shook my head and laughed, followed by a cough.
Why does she care so much? I thought she hated me?
Whilst i lost track of real time in my mind, she appeared at the door again holding an arepa.
"I know they're your favourite and it was all i could find sooo.." She handed me it and i looked up at her.
"How did you know-?" I took a bite of it, still watching her.
"It's pretty obvious when i'm round here almost every day of the week, Camilo."
I nodded slowly and laughed.
"Oh. Yeah." She watched me for a moment before she spoke.
"I guess i'll leave you to it, yeah?" She went to leave but i suddenly called out.
"Wait, Y/n! Can.. you come here?" I sat up straighter as she walked to the edge of my bed, looking confused.
I bit my lip, looking away.
"I want to tell you something." I inhaled sharply, unsure as to why I was doing this.
She nodded.
"Okay, go ahead. What is it?" She tilted her head slightly.
"I.. I think I like *COUGH* ..you." I looked up at her from my bed, a concerned look on my face and a shocked one on hers.
"You..- you like me? But.. But i thought you hated me?" She looked confused, that's for sure.
I shrugged.
"I was pretending i guess." She stared down at me, not speaking a word.
"uhh.. Y/n?" I bit my lip, scared as to what she was going to say.
She lunged forward and wrapped her arms round me, unexpectedly hugging me.
"Wha- Y/n?" She clung tighter to me. I wrapped my arms round her finally, pulling her close to me.
"I always have.." I muttered as she pulled away from the hug.
"I thought i was the only one feeling like this! I thought i just hated you, but recently i've been realising things.. things like my feelings toward you." She looked directly into my eyes, the cutest look on her face.
She cupped my cheek in her hand and i realised what was about to happen.
I put a hand to her mouth and frowned.
"You'll get my cold, y/n."
She licked the palm of my hand and i quickly retracted my hand in disgust.
"Eeewwww-! Y/n!" I wiped it away.
She giggled before speaking.
"I don't care. I want this.."
She leaned in toward me, our lips colliding. I surprisedly kissed back, leaning my head to one side to add more pressure. After a few moments we broke for air.
"First kiss?" She asked, slightly out of breath.
"First kiss. You too?"
She nodded, smiling slightly.
"Wanna do it again?" I asked, pulling her closer to my chest.
"Mhm.."
I leaned forward, kissing her again however more gently this time.
After a moment we both pulled away.
"Y/n, will you be my girlfriend?" I stared into her eyes hopefully, my eyes darting across her facial features.
She smiled, tears filling her eyes.
"Yes, of course i will." She wrapped her arms round me, resting her head against me.

i'm half asleep 🙄
