Lucy's pov
A man stood at the platform, shrouded in wreaths of other-light. He was short and hairy, and remarkably shaped like an ape. Even in his ghost form, I could still smell the beer on his breath and feel the fear he instilled in my heart. The man I had hid from because he beat me, the man who cared for nothing but beer and money. My own father. The man I murdered.
(Flashback)
"Lucy, go down to the station and tell your father this instant that he needs to come home for supper!" My mother shouted.
Afraid of feeling my mother's wrath, I hurried out the door and down to the train station. It was getting late, so there would only be one more train this evening. It would come in just a few minutes, so my father would be done in about half an hour. There he was, awaiting passengers to get off while he smoked a cigar.
I walked up to him. With a start, he jumped and noticed me. "What do you want, you piece of scum? Scram off to your mother and don't bother me!" Startled, I jumped back. Oh yeah. He was drunk right now, so he probably didn't recognize me.
"Papa, it's me, Lucy. Mam wants you to hurry home for supper."
He jeered at me. "Lucy, eh? I don't recall having a daughter look as ugly as you. In fact, I only have six! Now why don't you go home before the ghosties get ya!"
Now since I was only five, I wasn't that strong. But this made me mad. I lashed out at him and kicked him in the shin. He yelled,"Ouch, you little devil that hurt!" He grabbed me by my coat collar and hoisted me in the air. "I swear, Lucy, I'm gonna hurt you!" I screamed and flailed about, but to no use. I could smell the revolting stench of beer as he started to choke me. The train whistled off in the distance.
I could see stars before my eyes. So this was how I was going to die. But, I was a pretty resourceful girl, so I didn't lose hope yet. I mustered all of my strength and kicked him right in the face. He toppled over like an oversized bowling pen. The train got closer.
I don't know how, but in the next few seconds I managed to cling to the platform and climb up. My horrible father was not so lucky. He only managed a scream of utmost terror before it was cut short.
(End of Flashback)
I started to shake. How could he be here?
"Lucy...."
I drew my rapier.
"I'm gonna hurt you..."
He suddenly flew right up to me. I sliced him to shreds, but he started to reform. I slowly started to back away, suitcase in hand. He laughed. "I swear, Lucy, I'm gonna hurt you!" Of course. He was a type two, doomed to forever repeat those horrible words. I yet again sliced him up with my rapier. I started to run.
"Lucy..."
But I left him behind, my long legs out-distancing his plasm ones. I didn't stop until I reached my house. Mary appeared at the door. "Did you get it?" She asked.
"Yeah," I managed in a shaky breath.
She looked at me strangely. "Did anything interesting happen?"
I smiled at her and shook my head. "Not really."
