Lost Innocence

CHAPTER 41

 When Mr. Ashford reach the property the lady wasn't there anymore

"where is she?" he ask

[she left long ago sir] the man replied

"send me the footage" Mr. Ashford said as he sat down on the dirty fountain

Once he received the footage he hesitated if he should open the video or not 'what if its just a wishful thinking of mine'  he thought staring at his phone 'she was already dead what am I still thinking?' he laugh at himself inwardly 'she died here yet still here I am still wishing she was alive' he sighed as he finally clicked the video to play

He can see a woman enter the villa yet he can't see her face clearly as she was wearing a cap which is covering her face he can clearly see her looking around the area and after a while she just sat there obviously crying for a while before she stood up then her cap was slightly risen and the face he saw made him stunned 'who are you?' he thought

"track this lady down and report to me as soon as possible" Mr. Ashford demanded before he again left the area with his heart pounding in somewhat excitement

'is it really you?' he ask himself again as he drove away

When Mr. Ashford finally was back Darcel and Daeven was there in his office

"why are you both here?" he ask as he sat down in between the two

"I saw you rushing somewhere a while ago so I came here to ask" Darcel answered straightforward as usual

"I came here to pass time but didn't expect to see Darcel ge instead of you" Daeven also replied

"where did you go?" Darcel ask

"ah to our old house" Mr. Ashford truthfully answered making the two frozen in place

"our man called someone trespass the area so I went and check it" their father continued

"who?" Daeven ask

"I also don't know, I'm not sure actually" he admitted

"is it someone we knew?" Darcel ask

"I can't give you an answer yet son let me confirm it first" he said not wanting his sons to have false hope

"anyways any news about your sister?" Mr. Ashford ask trying to change the subject

"Raiden called she told him about their next transaction she'll be here in Beijing next week" Daeven replied making him nod his head

The lady after she went back to the orphanage went straight to her chambers feeling all tired from crying and her head is also aching from all the thinking she did though nothing came in her mind which frustrates her more

"Layla can't you really tell me who am I?" she whispered in her phone and sent her voice message, she then sat on the floor leaning on her bed her face between her knees as she again starts sobbing

Layla who received the message again felt guilt and hurt at the same time as she can't watch her in that state anymore but at the same time all she wanted to do is protect the person who was a sister figure to her since her parents died

'is it the right time to tell her?' she questioned herself as she stared at her phone screen

"I'll meet you on Sunday" she shortly replied with a sigh and continued her shift at the hospital
