A drop of fluid falls on the floor. To hear is a small fizzle as it hits the ground.
The fluid was acid.
A cable sparks and lights up the room.
For a brief moment you could see the details of the room.
Not a room. A lab.
In the corner a human.
Not Human.
Something that looks like one.
It's plugged into a generator that doesn't work.
The figure has a TV for its head. One arm is made of metal, one leg is too.
The cable sparks again.
There's a short, loud noise and the generator jumps on.
The room is filled with light.
You could see more now.
Shattered glass on the floor.
Dried out blood from bottles that were once on the shelf.
Some papers all across the floor and the table. The person who lived here left this place in a hurry.
The cable sparks again and then humanoid figure moves it head. Not a lot, an inch maybe.
A Scale pops up on the TV screen.
"Charging in Progress
0 out of 100%
24 hours remaining."
...
The scale completes.
The screen lights up red.
"Error found %Memory%, backup in progress."
The screen blinks a few times in a few different colours.
It lights up red again.
"Backup failed. Data from %Memory% lost.
Starting programm."
The screen goes black for a short while.
Then some two circles pop up.
They blink.
The figure moves it TV head and looks around the room.
"What a mess"
It says on the screen.
"Where am I?"
The figure takes the cable out of its neck and stand up.
Looking into the mirror in front of it.
It's shattered.
"?" It says on the screen.
"Error 7829 %Memory% Error Code"
The figure tilts its head.
"I don't remember", he says. The first words coming out of it. The voice sounds robotic, yet human.
"What am I? Wasn't I supposed to be !!ERROR MEMORY 568!!
