A few days later Madison got on the plane. She was tired from the constant nights of restless sleep and nightmares. In some she was dying, and in others she was watching others die. She went through the airline security and got on her flight. She didn’t really enjoy flying, but she knew there were scarier things out there. When she landed, she got off the plane and got her luggage. It wasn’t much, just some clothes and books. She had to leave her weapons at home because of airport security. As she walked out of the airport she waved for a taxi and gave the driver the address Jason Bull had given her. After she got to her hotel and got settled in, she texted Jason to let him know she was there. Jason told her to rest at the hotel and they would meet up at about 5:30 p.m.. It was currently 2:00 in the afternoon, she unpacked her luggage and decided that maybe trying to get some sleep wouldn’t hurt her.

4:05 p.m.
Madison woke up with a jump. One more nightmare, nothing unusual. She decided to take a shower and get ready to be seen in public. She’d actually brush her hair for the first time in four days. I guess PTSD and depression can take a lot out of a person. After she was ready to go, she laced up her boots and headed down to the cafe Jason asked her to meet him at. She took the elevator to the lobby and went out the door. She had expected to wave for a taxi again, but instead she saw Jason waiting on the sidewalk. She smiled and went up to him, “You’d have been at least ten minutes early.” Jason said with a smile. “It’s rush hour and I hate being late.” Madison responded with a monotone voice. “I figured we’d walk instead.” Jason said as he began to walk forward. “So what’s the case about?” Madison asked as she stared forward. “This kid had all the blood drained out of him and the police think his friend did it. This,” Jason said holding up a folder, “is why I need your help.” “So you think this is in my category of work?” asked Madison. “Yes I do. I’ll show you the pictures in the folder and we can see if we’re thinking the same thing.” Jason said, turning his head to look at her. She nodded. After a couple of minutes of silence Jason stopped at the door of the cafe and Madison continued walking. “Where are you going?” Jason asked, confused. She didn’t answer and continued walking. He went after her and grabbed her shoulder, “Hey-” he started, but he was cut off when she spun around and said, “Don’t touch me.” Her scared expression stayed for a moment before she regained her composure and it became monotone again. Jason's confused expression turned into a concerned one. “Are you okay?” He asked her, concern lacing his voice. “I’m fine.” She said, her voice still and emotionless. Jason, still looking concerned, said, “Okay, well our turn was that way. I was confused when you kept on walking when I stopped.” “I guess I just wasn’t paying attention.” Madison said. She then started walking back to the cafe, while a concerned Jason Bull followed.
