Hello 3055

Ever since the crumulons Invaded Earth it has been nothing but constant pain and destruction. The humans stood no chance against the technologically advanced aliens who seemed to have come prepared. My family and I hid with our neighbors in their underground bunker and remained untraceable from the crumulons. 3 years have passed with no sign of hope leaving us to wonder if the crumulons would ever leave this planet.

The feeling that I would one day see the end of this crisis kept dying as the months went by, making me lose hope even more. My family and our neighbors got along pretty well for a bunch of people who hated each other at first, I guess nothing like a good ol' fashion alien invasion to bring people together. I always wondered what my life would have been like if this never happened, where my family would have been, what mischief my little brother would have gotten himself into but alas I'm always hit with the harsh reality that I may never get to see those things play out.

Food supply was going down and our neighbors immediately went back to their old ways, blaming my family for shortening the rations which should have supposedly lasted them 5 years and the once reasonable Crimers immediately became irrational savages who wanted us out by all means. My dad tried to reason with them but they didn't listen and just like that we were out there looking for a place to hide from the Crumulons.

We were on the move for days looking for shelter until we stumbled upon an old house that seemed to be abandoned. "This place looks deserted, I don't think they'd find us here", my dad said as we all went into the building. We were just about to settle in when we heard a sharp cold voice saying "Stop right there". When we turned, it was an old lady with one of the guns the Crumulons Invaded the planet with and she looked like she knew how to use it. "I ain't joking around", she said as she continued aiming the gun at us furiously, my dad tried to calm her down and....BOOM!!!....My dad was on the ground with a hole in his right thigh. My mum rushed over to nurture the wound while my brother and I just stayed where we were.

The old woman began asking questions to which we had no answers. My mum then explained to her how we were chased out of our previous hide out and ended up here, further explaining we meant no harm and that there was no need for the violence. The lady put down her gun and helped my mum out with my dad's injury and in no time he was feeling better. The woman told us about a secret society where humans that survived the invasion were residing and how she had planned to head there before we came into her home.

Later that day, she told us how she survived those 3 years with nothing but her wits and strong will. She was a military veteran who had just retired when the aliens attacked. According to her, on the day of attack, she lost her entire family and loved ones too. While she was talking, my brother Max walked over to give her a hug and she hugged him back. I asked why she attacked us instead of helping when she saw us, she said it was because people had tried to steal from her before and she felt we were about to do same. The woman offered to take us to the secret society as according to her, was the least she could do. She gave us rooms to stay in for the night before we head out for the journey the next day, I wasn't tired and still had a lot of questions to ask the old lady but my mum wanted us in bed.

At 1:15 that night, I woke up cause I needed some water. I didn't know where to get it from so I went looking for the nearest tap to drink from. On my way to what seemed like the kitchen I saw a full grown Crumulon on the floor. I was so scared but I noticed it wasn't moving. I got closer and closer to the alien body not knowing what to do, I picked a spoon I saw on a counter and threw it at the alien but it still didn't move. At that point I assumed it was dead, then I heard a voice saying "I see you've found the corpse", it was the old war veteran. I asked her how it got there and she was more than willing to share the story.

She said she was just on her bed when she heard noise coming from inside the house. She thought it was another heist to steal her supplies so she went towards the noise and to her surprise, there was a Crumulon in her kitchen. She didn't know what to do at first but she devised a plan to apprehend the alien. Luring it to her position and when it took the bait, she led it to her living room where she struck it with a machete. She dragged the alien back to the kitchen and took it's weapon. She said that was what pushed her to find a way out of there. She immediately grabbed her radio trying to reach out to other humans who may have survived, fortunately for her, she was able to get a man who told her about the secret society and where to find it. According to her, this was a day before we encountered her which explains why she had the gun in the first place.

She gave me a glass of water and escorted me to bed. As she was about to leave I said, "You never got to tell me your name" and she said "It's Marilyn, Marilyn Cooper".
