The girl yawned as she woke up with snow falling around her.
"Good morning." said the girl.
"Good morning," said the bellflower.
"Is this the winter you've been speaking of?" The girl asked the bellflower excitedly, who was strewn with snow all over herself and her surroundings.
"Yes! Actually, I was waiting for you to wake up." the bellflower said to her happily.
"Is that so?" the girl replied in awe.
Over the times the two had sat together, the bellflower had felt a sense of sorrow in itself, as it somehow felt melancholic and bothered.
While enjoying the silence together under the falling snow, the bellflower had spoken out of nowhere:
"Am I not entertaining you?"
"Why must you not?" the girl replied in perplexity as she did not understand the bellflower's odd question.
"I've barely afoot to walk onto, and I've barely a word to speak with you." the bellflower had spoken in tears as her bottled emotions of anxiety finally flew.
At this point, the girl was upset by what the bellflower had thought of her.
"And why must you doubt in that way?" The girl remarked.
"Oh, please excuse me for what I've said." the bellflower replied, "I have been thinking of things."
"Why is that so?" asked the girl.
"If I'm going to be completely honest, would you believe me for what I'm about to say?" the bellflower asked the girl before ever answering her question.
"Of course, I would!" the girl nodded as her face went red, and her eyes began to weep.
"I don't think we are for each other." the bellflower said.
The girl was left speechless as she felt her heart crumble and tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Why?"
"We are far too different for each other, little girl." the bellflower replied, "No matter how similar the likes of us may be."
The girl froze in silence as the bellflower confided.
"We yearn for the things we desire, and sometimes, we are left to be contented with one another... I have been frivolous for thinking I could keep up with someone so vehement with the things they yearn for," she added, "I, for one, am confident that you will meet someone exceptional with the likes of you who you will adore for the rest of your life; as for me, I have been silly, and I ask for forgiveness."
The girl stood there all bewildered by what the bellflower had said as she could not comprehend the overwhelming feeling she had felt inside of her.
"Then I have done us no good."
The girl could not say anything anymore as her words were choked by sobbing.
"You have, the time we squander for someone we love is the time we appreciate the memories we've built with them as well," the bellflower replied, "My affections are genuine, and I'm sure you recognize that."
"But I am only a flower, living my life monotonously with my fellow, growing wherever the wind may take us, blowing our fragrance for the bees and butterflies to come to us, but you, you are an entirely different kind, a different kind where I regard myself as useless in your life, a whole different being, you're supposed to walk on with your legs, go on adventures, and enjoy your life to the fullest extent."
The girl was baffled since she did not know whether to feel grateful or unhappy, but for all she knew, the flower had always loved her and cared for her.
"I don't want to leave you." the girl replied after being silent for so long.
"I will always be your friend, even when we're apart, and even when destiny is bound to diverge from us, my adoration will not falter," the bellflower stated, "I will never forget you."
"Now go! Leave me be, explore the wonder of this elegant planet as there is so much for the world out there that is for you."
"I ask for forgiveness if I had been foolish." the bellflower reinstated yet again.
"Can I ask you one more question?" the girl had said out of nowhere, "Do you love me?"
The bellflower was taken aback by the girl's question, and because the bellflower is a timid creature by nature, it preferred to remain mute, but it had left a quote that had left the girl to ponder:
"Only your heart and conviction can determine that answer."
