Prologue

Valentina's POV

I woke up with someone prepping kisses all over my face and i undoubtedly knew who it was.
I smiled and said, "Good morning hija."
"Good mownin mama." My 3 year old daughter said.
When I looked on the other side of the bed, it was empty and i immediately asked her. "Alba where is your papa?"
"I dowt know."
I was confused. So, i got up from our bed- mine and Ben's. Ben is my husband and I love him dearly. I know I am only twenty three years old but this is what I have always wanted, a loving husband and three lovely children. A child is already there, The star of my eyes, my Alba. Although her name is Elena Alba Davis, but I lovingly call her Alba.

I went out of the room with Alba and started looking for Ben. But he was nowhere to be seen. I called him but he was out of service.

I got very worried. All of a sudden my eyes fell on a brown envelope kept at the breakfast bar. I made him pick up the envelope, broke its seal and what I saw changed my whole life. There were three things in it. There was a note, divorce papers and I was given full custody of Alba.
I was very shocked. Tears were not stopping from my eyes.
What will happen to us now? Mine, Alba and our unborn child. Yes, our future baby. I had thought that today I will give this good news to Ben, but it seems that now I will not be able to give it and he will never know it.
I quickly took out the note from the envelope and started reading it.

My Dear Vel
I know what you must be thinking now. I know what I am doing is not right but I have to take this step. I don't deserve you.
Two days ago I was fired again. I wanted to be an example to our Alba, but I'm ashamed of myself. That's why I am leaving you and our daughter. I love you so much that it hurts but I have to do it. I have to do something that I deserve. You and Alba need someone who deserves you. It pains me so much to say don't wait for me. Find someone who will be a good man to you and a good father to Alba, which I could never be.
Just never forget that I love you and our daughter very much.

I cried and kept on crying. I was in pain on the ground, not just in physical but in mental pain.

Alba asked, "What happened mama?"
I cried and told her, "Your father left us."
As soon as I spoke, darkness fell before my eyes.
