Chapter 8:- Aftermath

Valentina's POV

I woke up, fluttering my eyes open and squinting because of bright morning light.

"Ugh! Fuck!" I whispered as my head started throbbing.
How much i drank yesterday?
I felt something heavy on my waist and saw someone sleeping beside me naked. What! NAKED! Then i saw, i was also naked underneath the sheets. Oh My God! Who did i slept with? Oh yeah..... HARVEY! Oh my gosh! No.....i can't. I need to go. Right now!

What the heck i did? I hooked up with Harvey? Seriously? My celibacy of 7 years just broke in one night. I shouldn't have drunk so much. I need to go before he wakes up!

I rolled out of the bed and started throwing clothes on my body.

A deep husky voice interrupted my dressing.
"Did we slept together?"
"What do you think?" I was angry.
"We did. Right?"
"Yeah....but we should forget about it. It was a mistake. We can't have this kind of relationship."
"Do you regret it?"
"Um...i don't know? I was drunk as much as you were and can't tell anything right now. I need to go."
"But....what about trying something. You know maybe dating?"
"I don't date. I have a lot of responsibilities. So no."
"What's the harm in giving a chance?"
"Chance! Seriously. I said i don't date and specially my work clients. A big NO periodt."
"Atleast let me make you some breakfast and drop you off."
After hesitating, i gave up. "Ok fine."

We entered his kitchen.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Pancakes will be great."

He started making pancakes. To be honest he looked sexy while cooking.
Oh gosh Valentina! Just step it out. We already stepped out of limit the previous night. No more making mistakes like this.

"Here." He gave me pancakes with a green concoction that looks gross.
"What is thing?" I made a funny face that screams gross.
"It's a hangover drink. Have it."
"No....just give me Advil."
"It is more effective than Advil. Just have it."
"Thankyou." I gave up and had it. It made me gag.

He also took a seat on the breakfast bar with his food and started eating.

I started making conversations. "So, you remember anything from last night?" I asked him.
"Nope, no really. Specially after our 21 questions."
"Yeah...same."
"Listen Valentina, i know you have responsibilities and don't want anything personal to do with me but atleast try not make things awkward. Same goes me as well."
"Ok yeah....i understand."

After finishing off the food, we exited his penthouse and went into the parking lot. There were a lot of expensive cars. He unlocked his Audi and opened the front passenger door for me.

"Thankyou." I slid into the seat.
"Put the address in the GPS." He said.
And put my address.
"You live in Billionaire's Row?"
"Yeah..."
"Then your office is nearby your home. Right?"
"Yeah. My home and our offices are in the West side and your home is in East."
"Yup..."

The whole car ride was full of small talks here and there.

After reaching my apartment building, i thanked him for the ride and without looking back, i sprinted inside the building.

I entered my home and realised i have to get Lisa to pick up Alba.

I dialled her, she picks up in two rings.
"Hello. Good morning Ms. Delgado."
"Good morning Lisa. How many times i have said to call me Valentina."
"Okay, Valentina."
"I know i have told you not to come today, but i need a favour."
"Sure. I'm totally free to do anything." She giggled.
"Great. So, can you pick up Alba from Graciela's house and drop her off at home?"
"Sure, i could do it. What time?"
"Just go right now."
"Ok."
"Yeah.."
With that i hung up and thought to gave Lexi a heads up that Lisa is coming to pick up Alba. So, i called her.

She picked up immediately.
"Hey! Good morning!"
"Good morning Lexi. How is Gracie now?"
"Oh she's fine. At night, i had given her the medicine, now she is fine."
"Ok...So, i called because Lisa is now coming to yours to pick up Alba."
"Ok ok. The girls are studying right now."
"What? Really?"
"Yeah....they have a short quiz tomorrow for Maths."
"Ok..."
"So, you tell me, what did you do yesterday after i left."
"Nothing."
"What nothing?"

Ughhh! I thing i should tell her. She's my best friend after all.
"Ok! If you're that interested so meet me at Le café coffee near my apartment at 5."
"Ok ok, I'll be there."
"Ok bye, i have to work now."
"You and your work. Bye bye."
I hung up and went to take shower.

While showering, my thoughts drifted to last night and this morning. How irresponsible of me to hook up with a client. I just don't know, how things will turn now and especially after rejecting his dating offer, will it affect my business deal with him. I don't know what to do.

My thoughts was interrupted when i my front door being shut. That means Alba is home.

I wrapped a towel around me and went inside my closet.
As as was finding clothes, Alba came rushing in.
"Mama!!"
"Yes baby?"
"Did you enjoy last night with Aunty Lexi?"
"Yeah....i enjoyed. Ok now go to your room and play with Lisa. I'll be back in few minutes, i need to get ready."
"Ok Mama!" She then jumped and kissed me on my cheek.

After getting ready for my day at home, i went to Alba's room.
"Hey Lisa."
"Hey Valentina."
"I wanted to say that.....you can go home and be with your boyfriend. Now i got it all managed."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah.....just go and tomorrow, no need to come in the morning. Just pickup Alba in the afternoon and come back here for rest of the day."
"Ok sure. Thankyou."
With that she went out of the front door.

"Why did you tell Lisa to not to come in the morning?"
"Because, from tomorrow, I'll drop you off to school."
"Really?"
"Yes baby."
She hugged me tightly. "Thankyou! thankyou! thankyou!"
"Ok ok, now let's make some lunch for ourselves."

We entered the kitchen and tied our aprons. And started making our favourites for lunch. Chimichanga with Corn salad and Mexican rice.
Alba helped me in making the stuffing for the Chimichanga.

After an hour, our lunch was prepared and we were stuffing it in our mouths but not before, Alba has posted it on her Instagram and Snapchat.

On her 10th birthday, i bought her an iPhone and from that day she has made her social media accounts along with Gracie.

After finishing up our food, Alba went to her room and i was in my home office, going through the contract sent by Harvey.

I contract was good enough and i think, i will sign it tomorrow. Just don't let Harvey change his mind, after yesterday night's and today's incident.
