Chapter 5:- Girls Day Out

After dropping off Harvey, i went back to my office, complete all my work and attended the meeting with the board members.

It's already 11 PM, and I'm entering my house. I saw Lisa sitting on the breakfast bar scrolling through her phone.

"Is Alba asleep?"
By hearing my voice, she stood up.
"Yes ma'am. I was just waiting for you."
"Oh yeah... You wanted to tell something?"
"Yes.... It's about Alba. She was crying today in the school, Gracie told me."
Hearing that my daughter cried today makes me panicked.
"Why?"
"I don't know she wasn't telling me anything. She also didn't want to tell you anything because she thinks you be more stressed."
"Ok..... nevermind. I will ask her myself."

Maybe a day out will cheer my Alba.
"You don't need to come tomorrow. I will spend day with her."
"Ok ma'am."
"Now go my driver is waiting he will send you back home. Your boyfriend must be waiting."
She giggled"Thank you ma'am. Good night."
With that she went out of the house.

I will ask Alba about it tomorrow.
I went towards Alba's room and open the door and saw she was sleeping. I went inside and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Good night hija." I whispered and exited her room.

After entering my bedroom, i changed into my nightwear and laying on my bed, thinking about my life and about the man i met today. In a long time, today i laughed in front of anyone who is neither my daughter nor my best friend. In only a meeting, he tempted me to do the things i haven't done in long time like laughing and talking about my daughter to a basically stranger. What will happen when we will interact a lot during this business deal?
By  having these thoughts i fell asleep.

Next morning, i woke up late because it's weekend. Today i decided to take Alba for an outing. I should invite Lexi as well.
I picked up my phone and dialled Lexi. After four rings, she picked up.
"Hello?" She spoke with a sleepy voice.
"Hey sleepyhead."
"Hey... sorry i didn't saw who was calling, i just picked up."
"Yeah yeah no problem. I was calling because I'm taking Alba for a fun day out. So, i was thinking you and Graciela could join us."
"What!?? You Valentina!! Wants a day out?? Don't you have work because you work on weekends as well?"
"Yes i want a day out because I'm thinking that me and Alba are kinda drifting apart."
"Oh yeah....Even Gracie told me that Elena was crying that day in the school."
"Yeah. I want to ask why was she crying. Ok! So, meet me at Brookfield Place at 12:30."
" Exactly where we will meet?"
"Umm....Le district?"
"Ok done."

"Yeah... that's it. Bye."
"Bye"
Then i hung up and went downstairs to kitchen seeing Alba having cereals.

"Good morning baby."
She saw me and run towards to hug me.
"Good morning mama. I missed you yesterday."
"Same baby same."
"Are you not going to work today?"
"No. Today we are going to have a fun day out with Aunty Lexi and Gracie."
"Really?"
"Yes Alba."
"Hurray!!!!!"
We laughed.
Now i think i should ask her about yesterday.
"Baby! Listen."
"Yes mama?"
"I want to ask you something. Ok, so.... Lisa told me that you were crying yesterday. What happened? Why were you crying?"
"Mama...it was nothing just a bad day."
"I don't think so, it was nothing. Please tell me Alba. I'm worried for you."

After few minutes of silence, she spoke.
"I was bullied."
"What!!!!? Who dared to bully my child."
"Rachel. She always bullies me but yesterday was a kinda of low blow."
"What did she said?"
"She told me that my papa hated me that's why he left me."
By listening that, my vision blurred with tears.
"No baby no....your papa didn't left because of you. He left because he had to go somewhere else and work."
