Melissa Rose Heyward is a 18-year-old teenager who enjoys surfing at the beach, photography and swimming. She lives in a small town called Crescent Head, NSW with a population of only around 1,931. Her nicknames include Lyssa, Mel, M or Lys (by Elizabeth), Melsie (by Jake and her father) and Missy (by her father) She is Determined and Smart, but can also be very Secretive and a bit Stubborn. She is an Australian who defines herself as bisexual but has a preference over men. She about to commence her senior year of high school. She is obsessed with the beach and surfing. Melissa is 5'2 and weighs around 54kg which is 120lbs. She has very pale skin, dirty blonde hair which goes down to her waist and emerald green eyes. She was found wandering when she was 7 and cant remember her life before she got adopted by the Heyward family. her family consists of her father Joe Heyward (44) and her brother Jake Heyward (21) , Her mother left when she was 10 as her father found out she was having an fair with Jakes teacher. Melissa's best friend is a teenager called Elizabeth Smith. They are inseparable, both being very talented surfers. They have been friends since Melissa joined Elizabeth's year 2 class.
