"So he's building an army, just like we thought," Lucas sighs

"Yeah, but he's not building this army just to spread." Mike starts

"He's building it to stop Eleven." Will finishes

Ian sits down next to Mike, resting his head on the raven haired boy's shoulder.

"What are we gonna do about Billy and Alex?" He speaks quietly but loud enough for the others to hear.

Nancy kneels down in front of the boy, speaking to him from the heart. "We're going to help them, okay? They'll be okay. We just need to exorcise them like we did Will last year and stop the Mind Flayer"

Ian nods, silently thanking the curly haired girl as she stands back up.

A faint screeching is heard outside, and Nancy is the first to investigate, slowly creeping towards the window on the side of the cabin where it was coming from. The screeching continues, and everyone hears it now. Jonathan tries dismissing it as fireworks, but Nancy quickly turns around to ask El a question.

"Billy. When he told you this, it was here, in this room?"

El nods.

Mike turns around as they all hear a distant thudding noise, then an almost fluttering type noise. Will slowly raises his hand to reach the nape of his neck, and Ian connects the dots, quickly turning to look at Nancy, hoping that she'd see his now panicked face.

"He knows we're here," Will whispers.

They quickly evacuate the cabin, heading to Nancy's car, but as they do, they see the fireworks through the trees, and paired with it is trees being moved. Moved in such a way that's so inhuman, like a giant creature was just a couple hundred yards away from them.

Then they saw it.

Ian felt himself jump out of his own skin as it grew closer, and he freezes.

The Mind Flayer screeches once more, and its speed increases as it lays eyes (?) on the group. Nancy tries to start the car, but it fails, and Jonathan grabs an axe from a tree stump as they all run back inside.

All excluded Ian.

He panicked and froze, physically unable to move as his eyes lay on the fleshy creature. It was the worst thing he'd ever seen.

He'd seen many things, but nothing compared to this.

The group were all inside, barracading the windows and doors, unaware that their friend was outside, paralyzed in fear.

His shoulders were slightly raised, and his fists were clenched so tight his knuckles were turning white. He couldn't even feel his face as panic flooded his brain.

Mike ran outside to grab his boyfriend by the wrist, dragged him back inside, and slammed the door closed so Nancy and Lucas could barricade the door again. He sets the terrified Ian on the floor in the middle of the cabin next to El.

The girl wraps the uncontrollably sobbing Ian in a hug, holding him close to try and wash his fears away.

All that plagued his mind was what his sister was going through.

"That's what my sister is being killed by?"

"This is all my fault, I could've stopped her from going with Billy!"

El quietly shushes him, rocking him a little bit. She wasn't the best at comfort, but Joyce showed her the affection she'd always needed, so she repeated those actions for her friend. Just holding him close and trying to comfort him was all she knew how to do.
