"Will you be home for Valentine's?" You asked Cody through the phone, he was on the road right now, getting to his next destination for AEW.
You heard a loud sigh from the other end of the phone. "No, I'm afraid not, I have a show that day."
"Oh." Was all you really could muster to say, fidgeting with blankets on the bed. It was going to be yours and Cody's first Valentine's Day together.
"I'm really sorry, love. I wish I could be there." Cody apologized.
"No, no, it's okay. We can always make up for it when you do get home." You assured, though you were a bit upset that you weren't going to be able to spend Valentine's with him.
"Yeah, I guess so." Cody spoke.
"When will you be home?" You asked.
"The 19th." He answered.
"Okay, that's a Saturday so we can probably go out on a date or something then." You said.
"Yeah, sounds good to me, just pick out a restaurant or wherever you want to go." Cody responded.
"Well, it's getting late and you're still driving, so I'll let you go." You told him.
"Okay hon, I love you, and I promise I'll make it up to you on Saturday."
"I love you too, babe. Be careful." You said before hanging up.
You placed your phone on the empty space on the bed next to you. You were a bit upset that you wouldn't be seeing him on your first Valentine's with him, and you knew Cody was upset about it too. You laid there in silence, until you got an idea. You picked up your phone, calling your best friend, Brandi. After a few rings, she finally answered.
"Brandi!"
"Yes? Is everything okay?" She asked you.
"Yeah, everything is fine. I just got an idea and I need your help." You told her.
"Oh okay, what is it?" Brandi asked.
"So, you know how me and Cody won't be able to spend Valentine's together because there's a show that day?" You asked.
"Yeah..."
"Well, I thought maybe I fly out to him." You told her.
"Ohh, that's a great idea!" Brandi encouraged.
"Yeah, but I'm going to need your help. So, first things first, where is the show this week?" You asked her.
"It's in Boston this week." She answered.
"Okay, let me see if I can find a flight there real quick."
You two chatted for a moment while you looked for flights on your laptop. You found one, and booked it.
"Okay, so what's are plan once you get there? I can come and pick you up from the airport, and you can stay in my hotel with me that day until it's time to go to the stadium." Brandi offered.
"Yeah, that sounds great. What numbered match is Cody in that night?" You asked.
"I believe match 3." She answered.
"That works out well. I can just hide in your locker room until his match. Then, I'll wait for him to come back through the curtain, and I'll be standing there." You told Brandi the plan.
"Sounds good!"
"Okay, I'll see you then, Brandi." You told her.
"Alright, bye!" Brandi hung up.
You let out a sigh of satisfaction, closing your eyes and finally falling asleep.
- a few days later -
You sat in Brandi's locker room, trying to hide from everyone so that the secret that you were here wouldn't get spoiled to Cody. Brandi opened the door.
"Hey, his match is almost over, c'mon." She told you.
You nodded and followed her out to the gorilla, where you waited for Cody to come back through the curtain, and finally he did. When he saw you a smile spread over his face. You walked up to him, he pulled you into a hug, spinning you around lightly.
"Is this real?" Cody asked, pulling back a little to look at you.
"Yes, Cody, this is real." You giggled.
"I can't believe this, how did you manage to get here?" Cody asked.
"Well after our phone call, I decided that I could just book a flight. Then, I got a little help from Brandi." You explained.
Cody smiled, rubbing his hands up your arms.
"Happy Valentine's Day, babe." You told him.
"Happy Valentine's Day, gorgeous." He smiled, giving you a kiss.
"Let's get back to your locker room so you can shower and not be so sweaty." You laughed.
"Sounds good." Cody said, wrapping an arm around your waist as you two walked back to the locker room.
You sat down on the couch, scrolling through your phone until Cody got back from showering. He walked back in, shirtless.
"Where's your shirt?" You questioned, putting your phone down.
"I left it in here." He answered.
"Or you're just trying to show off." You teased.
"Oh yeah, sure." Cody played along, rolling his eyes playfully, and sitting in a chair.
You just shook your head lightly.
"C'mere you sexy thing." Cody said.
You got up and sat on his lap, giving him a quick kiss.
"I'm so happy you're here, I hated that we were going to have to spend our first Valentine's day together alone." Cody smiled, stroking your hair.
"I know, and now I might as well stay with you until you go home on Saturday." You told him.
"Yeah, so not only do I get to spend tonight with the most beautiful girl in the world, I get to spend the next week with you." Cody whispered, peppering kisses all over your face.
"I missed you so much." You whispered, placing your head on his shoulder, leaving kisses on his shoulder and up to his neck.
"I missed you too." Cody mumbled calmly, rubbing circles on your back.
"Happy Valentine's Day, baby." You told him, kissing his cheek.
"Happy Valentine's day, gorgeous."
