*Third Person POV*
A short figure was walking down the hallway minding his own business by using his phone when he accidentally bumps into someone.
Both of them drop their phones in the process.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I was on my phone I should've paid attention I'm so sorry."The shorter kept rambling apologies to the taller.
"No, it's fine I was also using mine."The taller spoke.
Both picked up their phones and stood up.
"Again, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience."He apologized once more.
"It's alright."The taller reassured that it was okay.
"Okay if you say so."The shorter said.
The taller put the phone in his pocket and started walking away.
The shorter suddenly noticed that the taller was wearing their school's basketball team uniform.
'I guess he's a basketball player.'He thought.
He too went the opposite direction to the cafeteria.
Unfortunately for the both of them, they didn't notice they had the wrong phones.
It was not until a few hours later when M/N arrived at home that he noticed the peculiarity.
'Hmm, weird, I don't remember having a cat phone case.'He thought.
'Wait.'
He looked at the phone case again.
"This isn't my phone case!"He yelled.*M/N's POV*
I pressed the phone button and opened the phone to see that the phone wasn't mine.
"Holy sh!t.
Whose phone is this?" I asked myself.
I tried to retrace my steps and think who this might belong to.
Then I remembered.
"That guy from earlier."I remembered what happened earlier.
"But who was that guy?"I had the misfortune of not seeing the name imprinted on his basketball jersey.
"Darn it."
"I'll just try and find him tomorrow and give his phone back."Then I did my nightly routine and went to bed.
At first I couldn't sleep properly due to me overthinking the situation.
After a few minutes though, I was able to fall asleep.*Tall Man's POV*
We just finished our basketball training for today and we're tired as hell.
I pulled out my phone to check the time but when I opened it, it wasn't my wallpaper.
'Whose phone is this?'I thought.
"Hey bro, this yours?"I asked Hikaru.
He went close to check.
"Nope, that's not mine."He replied.
'Huh?'
"Hey K hyung, is this yours?"I asked him while raising the phone a little higher.
He too, went close to inspect.
"No, but I know who owns it."He answered.
"Who?"I questioned.
"Someone Taki and I accidentally met after a competition."K hyung replied.
'Wait, I also bumped into someone earlier.'
"What's their name?"I asked.
"M/N, apparently he's a pretty well-known yet still heavily underrated author here at school."
"Really?"Hikaru asked.
"Yep."K hyung just shrugged.
"But then that means he might have my phone."I said.
"Well you can return it to him tomorrow and maybe you can also ask him if he has your phone or not."K hyung suggested.
"What if you accidentally swapped phones, oooooooh."Hikaru joked.
"I just hope so."
We headed home to rest after a day of exhausting practice.
After showering, I sat down on the foot of my bed, overthinking.
'What if he doesn't have my phone?'
'What if I lost it somewhere else?'
'What if...?"
So many what ifs filled my heads.
I just shrugged off the thoughts and lied down.
'I hope he has it.'
Then I went to sleep.*The Next Day*
*M/N's POV*
I was panting, out of breath.
I had already searched the whole school but I have yet to find that tall guy.
'I guess he's absent today.'
'So much for all that cardio.'
I began walking back to the direction of my classroom.
As I passed by the covered basketball court, I heard my name being called so I turned around.
I looked up and saw K hyung.
"Oh hey hyung, what's up?"I greeted him.
"Hey, I know who has your phone."He told me.
"How do you know about that?"
"No time to explain just come with me."
I followed him next to the bleachers and we sat down to talk.
"So how did you know about my phone?"
"I saw Jo holding last night after he realized he didn't have his phone."
"Jo?"
"You don't know him?"
I responded with no.
"Well, he's currently using the restrooms so let's just wait til he gets back."He told me.
A few minutes passed and the guy from yesterday showed up and stood in front of us.
"Oh it's you."Both of us said in unison.
"I thought you didn't know Jo?"K hyung asked me.
"I don't.
I just bumped into him yesterday."
K hyung turned to me and introduced the tall man as Jo.
"He's the owner of the phone you were holding last night."K hyung told Jo.
"Oh, well here's your phone."He handed me my phone to which I gratefully took.
"Oh and I think this is yours?"I pulled out the phone which I believed is his.
"Yes, thank you!"He took the phone and thanked me.
"K hyung, someone's looking for you!"Taki yelled from the other side of the court.
"Okay!
Tell them I'll be there!"
He looked at both of us and said,
"I'll leave you two get to know each other then."
After K hyung left, I held my hand out and introduced myself.
"Hi, I'm M/N."I spoke.
"Hello, I'm Jo. Jo Asakura."He introduced himself as well.
We shaked hands then proceeded to chat a little bit before I had to leave.
Before I left though, we agreed to become friends after this whole debacle.
I returned to my classroom and continued on with my day.*A week later*
*Still M/N's POV*
As I got out of class, I noticed that it had already been raining cats and dogs.
'Good thing I brought an umbrella today.'
As I reached the school's entrance I saw a familiar tall figure, it was Jo.
"Oh hey there Jo, why are you just standing there?"I asked him.
"I forgot to bring my umbrella today."He sheepishly replied with a small awkward smile.
"We can just go together then, I have mine in my bag."I pulled out my umbrella and opened it.
I looked at Jo then to the umbrella.
"I think you should hold it since you're taller."I handed him the umbrella.
We began walking out of the school when he spoke.
"How far away is your house?"He asked.
"Just 5 minutes away from school."
"Why?"I added.
"Well I was thinking that we could just stay at whose closest until the heavy rain dies down."
I thought about it for a second then I agreed.
We soon arrived at my home and settled in my room upstairs.
As he was sitting and looking around my room, I also sat down on my desk.
I took out the notebook which I write my stories in to check if it got wet by the rain which thankfully was spared from the pouring rain earlier.
"Hey what's that?"Jo asked, most probably about the notebook.
I quickly placed it in my drawer and turned around to face him.
"It was nothing."
"I saw you holding a notebook."
"Yes."
"Is it your diary?"
"No, why are you suddenly being a bit intrusive?"
"So, what is that?"
"It's not something you should concern yourself with."
"Why?"He stood up and came closer to me.
"Because."
"Because what?"
"Because we're not even that close yet."
"Oh."He stopped in front of me.
Suddenly he came closer, so I blocked the drawer only to be encased between him, his arms, and the desk.
He was towering over me.
There was barely any space for me to move.
He leaned his face closer to mine, just inches apart.
"So we aren't that close, huh?"
"Y-yeah."I replied in a shaky tone.
"Then..."
"What if I want to be closer?"He asked.
What happened next was something I half expected.
He gave my lips a light kiss.
Two faces, touching.
Everything seemed to dissipate as the scene played out.
The pitter-patter of the rain hitting the roof, the cars passing by, everything.
It was just us and us alone.
Then my brain finally registered what happened.
Jo had kissed me.
He pulled away and looked at me, expecting an answer to his question yet all I can say is.
"H-huh?"Hi!
It's me the lazy af author who finally published something after a long time of starving my readers.
I'm so sorry for the long wait, I had been busy with schoolworks and other stuff.
This is my very first oneshot and I personally think I started off very powerfully by publishing this kind of ending.
I have another one coming soon but it's going to be Hikaru this time instead of Jo.
If you want more of these, leave suggestions on who I should do next.
Anyways, that is all.
I hope you enjoyed reading!
I'll see you all in the next chapter, bye!
