Its been a few months since that thing happened...Everything has changed...I have changed...It felt like I will never be happy again. That day, my whole life fell apart and I didn't know what to do next. And I still don't.

Hi, I'm Anne and I've lost my best friend a few weeks ago. I'm twenty years old and I live in America-Chicago. I have a roommate Kate, which is so cool. My dream was always to have a roommate because after work or school you come home and have someone who is probably waiting for you. Kate is almost two years older than me, but now she is still twenty-one. We have been friends with Kate for so long. I love her.

I wasn't at my friend's funeral. I don't know if it is bad or good. I still haven't come to terms with it so much. We knew each other for a couple of years.

Two years ago, it was a year since I moved to Chicago and started living with Kate. That evening we went to celebrate at the new restaurant which was just around the corner. Inside it looked very modern. At first glance, we saw the chef and waiter arguing about something. Both of them were so preoccupied with the topic that they didn't even notice that we were there too.

We chose a place right next to the door. New wooden tables could be smelled all over the restaurant. We wanted to order but the menus were not there.

After a while, a waiter came to us with menus. He had dark brown hair and brown hazel eyes. He quickly handed us the tickets and walked behind the bar table. After a while, he returned, took our order, and disappeared into the kitchen.

Kate and I watched all the paintings posted in the restaurant. It seemed to us that we were somewhere in a museum, but then a handsome waiter emerged from the kitchen with our orders. He put them on our desk and apologized for taking so long. The number of people in the restaurant was increasing and I noticed that he was constantly bouncing from the kitchen behind the bar and vice versa. I felt sorry for him. Even from a distance, you could see how sweaty and exhausted he was.

Kate and I went home because it was about ten o'clock in the evening. The next morning I went for a walk and noticed that there was a note in the window from the restaurant with the inscription, ''We are looking for a waiter''. I tried to open the door and it was open. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the handsome waiter. He was looking straight at me and all that came out of me was

'' I'd like to be a waitress''. Nothing more.

He looked at me for a moment. There were a lot of thoughts going on in my head. What would happen if I let it go and went home? He must think I haven't even graduated yet. I was ready to turn around and leave, but at the door, he yelled at me that he was taking me. I didn't believe it, so I made sure again. It was like that. I started the next day from five in the morning. I thanked him and left with a smile.

I came home and told Kate everything right away. She didn't believe it, but neither did I. I couldn't sleep all night as I was looking forward to it, but the joy ended in a moment. I was so excited that I forgot to set my alarm. First day at work 2 hours late. What worse could have happened. I threw on my jeans and T-shirt and ran as fast as I could.

An enraged waiter was waiting for me at the bar. I wanted to explain it to him, but he just told me that it wouldn't happen again. I was glad he didn't fire me. I was interested in his name when we were already working together. I asked him, but he didn't answer. It was rude, so I raised my voice a little. "What's your name?", I shouted. He turned and replied with a sigh, "Michael, if you need to know"... I nodded and continued my work. There was a lot to do.

I came home in the evening, but Kate wasn't there. The only thing I saw on the table was a small piece of paper with some inscription. I went to the table and on the paper, she wrote this-

"I have to take a break for a while, it's been a lot for me lately. I don't know when I'll be back, so feed Woo." I forgot to mention that we have a Woo turtle.

I didn't know what was going on. Where is Kate? Where could she go? Why didn't she tell me face to face? Maybe he has some problems and wants to run away from them. I was looking forward to going home after a full day of work, but if Kate isn't there, what should I do?... I tried to call her, but she left her phone at home. Kate wouldn't write that, and most importantly, she wouldn't keep her cell phone here. I called her friends on her cell phone to see if anyone knew anything about her, but no one knew anything.

Six days have passed and Kate still hasn't contacted me. I felt terrible. What kind of friend am I if I haven't noticed that something is bothering her. I've been going to work all week now and not once did I come exactly on time. I still think about where she might be. I miss her very much and so does Woo.
