deployment

4 months have past and I have been given a date for deployment, I am in my gear already as I have just come from training, today was field training, pretty simple passed everything, Andy doesn't know I've been going to training cater and Kevin have seen the twins alot I just need to ask Andy if she will look after them when I leave tomorrow, I'm also going to finally take them to maya before I leave but I'm not going to get changed, I've had my 17th birthday, which was nothing interesting as I was on a physical training day.
" I'm home," I say tucking my swampy green t-shirt into my camouflage trousers, my bag slung over one shoulder.
" he..." Andy says but stops with her mouth hung open.
" you ok," I ask placing my bag down by the door.
"You actually did it," she says.
" yep and I have something to ask you," I say hugging her due to the fact she looked like she was about to cry.
" and what would that be," she say coldly.
" will you look after the twins until I'm back," I say holding her tightly and resting my head on hers.
"Of course I will, I'm there god mother, when do you leave," she Questions.
" I leave tomorrow morning at 07 hundred hours." I say releasing her from my grasp.
"Have you told maya," she Questions.
" nope I'm going over there now, with the kids, so she can meet them before I go, is she at the station," I say quickly.

The kids are in the carriers I walk through the station door in uniform as I haven't changed," Hey," I say opening the door to her office.
"Maddy oh my god hi," she says standing up to hug me," what with the uniform," she says pushing me.
" I enlisted in the army, and I thought I let you see the twins before I leave," I say uncomfortable.
" what, you joined the army," she says tears in her eyes," when do you leave," she says he voice quivering.
" tomorrow, I had to see you before I went I can't leave with you mad at me," I say wrapping my arms around her. I feel her tears start to soak my clothes around my neck where her head was now buried the door to her office opens.
" Hey Bella, hello bambina why are you dressed up in that," she says pointing at my uniform.
"I joined the army," I say rubbing mayas backs she continues to cry," you know I'm gonna be fine right," I wisper I to her ear.
"You don't know that," she mumbles wiping her eyes.
"Well, these are you niece and nephew, robbin and Matthew Bishop," I say handing, maya Robbin," you know her middle name is maya," I say looking at the pure admiration in mayas eyes.
"Really,why I was such an asshole to you, I don't even know how you got pregnant as you never went out," she says her last few words bring back some memories that I am not fond of I snap out of them as quickly as possible so carina and maya don't notice.
" nice to see you again carina," I say swapping the babies around.
"Good to see you to mads,"she says giving me a side hug.i have got so used to standing at attention I now just stand feet placed together hands behind my back like I'm a bouncer at a club.
" Wait so you get deployed tomorrow," maya says almost still in shock.
" yep, before you ask where I'm going,  I cant tell you confidential," I say looking around the room. I see a photo of me and maya when we were younger on her desk making me smile, we are allowed to take this couple of personal things so I just have some small photos that I printed out, one of me, maya and carina, one of Andy and I, and one with Carter,Kevin, carina, Andy,robbin, Matthew and me the day they were born. There is also one of just maya and me the same one that is on her desk, they are in my wallet where my ID would be as I have dog tags instead.
" I can't believe you joined the army," carina says stealing Matthew off of maya so she is now holding them both.
"Yep, I have no regrets, these two will be with Andy while I'm gone as that is where I live now," I say taking a mental image of the 4 infrot of me.
"I have to get going, I have to leave early tomorrow,but do you want to come round and I'll cook you food," I say putting my kids in their carriers.
"Yeh, sure kiddo," maya says wrapping an arm around one shoulder I do the same to her and we both grab a kid.

The 5 of us get through my apartment door. " Hey Andy," maya yells. She walks out if her room her eyes look swollen and red.
" I'll start food in a minute," I say putting Matthew down and taking andys hand leading her to my room.
"Are you ok," I ask.
" I'm fine maddy," she says sharply.
" Andy, you can be mad at me, I'm sorry but I have to do this," I say pulling her info me so her head is resting on my chest, Andy is definitely one of my closest friends, I would say she is my person.
"I'm not mad, I'm just scared,"she says.
" I'm gonna be fine," I say offering her a hand of the bed.

We all sit down once I've put robbin and Matthew to bed, they are great sleepers,it's great.andy put a film on and I collapse into mayas side for the first time, in 13 months, wow its been along time. My eyes start to feel heavy so I jolt myself awake, I leave the room to get changed I just throw a pair of jogging bottoms on with a baggy t-shirt. Last night at home.

I awake in the morning to find the entire apartment in my bed Andy with her head across my stomach, carina led on maya who had her head on my chest,no way am I getting out of this one, without waking them up.
" morning," I say moving them all off me.
"Ughh," they all groan.
" I have to go to camp and people are allowed to come today as well we are leaving," I say getting up and going to have a shower. I have my shower and put my uniform on.

We arrive at my training camp and get straight through, I get given a new helmet that I ordered and a spare pair of boots as well as trousers and a top, I stuff it in my bag as I know I only have around 5 minutes to say goodbye to my family, I was given a time and we have to boreded 5 minutes before so we can leave exactly at that time. I put my bag on my back and say goodbye to the twins that are in the back of the car.
"You be careful or I will kill you ok," maya says hugging me.
" I'll be back before you fu(King know it," I say into her ear before I release her.
" you know, you've definitely grown up in these last 13 months and I'm gonna miss you so be careful and come back ok," Andy says hugging me, I grab maya and carinas hands to pull them in as well.
"See you soon bambina," carina says before I walk onto the passenger carrier.
