**Note - Y/N will be called Stella for easier typing, you can change it to your preference. To be honest I'm addicted to writing and I don't know if it's actually any good so enjoy it either way. The long, dull car drive up to the school pulled Stella Strone into a trance of overthinking. What if no one liked her black hair, with its weird yellow strands? What if they didn't like her love for loud music and hate for any physical activity? Glancing out of the window brung a pit to her stomach. None of the roads looked familiar of course, this was another new town just like every other time they'd moved house.
Her dad slouched in silence in the driver's seat with some random catholic music playing on the radio, it was barely audible so she drowned it out easily. Before she knew it, they were there. "I don't see why I have to go to this stupid school. Why can't I just be homeschooled like normal?" A sigh came out of the man's lungs as he parked the Capri into a free spot near the main doors. "Because Stella... You need a REAL education." She shot him a disgusted look after staring at the annoying kids all around - to her they were all basic - popular girls hanging with the jocks just because it was canon to high school life.
Grabbing her backpack and throwing the heavy thing over her small shoulders she kicked the door open and yelled "It's bullsh-" before being violently cut off by her Christian father. "Language!" Rolling her eyes only seemed to piss her dad off more though as he drove off before she could properly close the door. Spinning to face the doors made her dizzy. A school? She wasn't used to so many kids in one area and the smell... Oh, the smell, it wafted through her body like drugs only this didn't get her high, it made her feel nauseous. Maybe getting sick would get her out of there Stella thought as she trekked the stairs two by two with a lot of people looking at her like she was foreign.
She'd heard a lot about this town. Hawkins. There was something off about the name, it felt like a half-assed whistle in her mouth, or maybe a toddler trying to say something with a lisp and the stories didn't add up to her either. Thinking about it the whole way to the form room didn't give her time to look around as she sat down to sarcastically bask in excitement for a new day of school at Hawkins High. Before she could finish sticking gum under someone else's desk she was pulled up to introduce herself.
Getting up was a nightmare Stella wanted to wake up from, everyone was staring as they were supposed to but it felt like peer pressure as her oversized clothes swayed with her to the front. Shrinking to the front and whacking her back on the board with a slouch instantly told everyone her aesthetic. Stella heard someone say "Oh God... Bet ten bucks she's a Freak. Just like that asshole Munson." followed by a few quiet chuckles before being shushed by the teacher. "I'm Stella Strone and I just moved here from a town none of you actually give a fuck about. Thank you." The teacher took note of her rude words, she saw her name mentioned in his red book but she couldn't care less.
As she sat the chair fell back before she threw her legs forward to slam the chair upright again. Rocking back-and-forth like this as she replaced the watermelon-flavored gum in her mouth rose attention through the classroom. Everybody was interested in her and for the wrong reason, Stella hadn't been there ten minutes and she was already being labeled a freak.
Look out for the next chapter in roughly about a week, I hope you enjoyed this first one. It's going to be a long book as I said I'm addicted to writing but if anyone has any suggestions please put your ideas forward.
