What really happened that night

(Flashback and this is in Jaylynn's POV not Kate's)

Well, it was 10:00 pm when the movie ended and I warned Ponyboy that we should rush back or Lia would kill us. Pony reassured me that it would be ok if we were a few minutes late and we just started walking back to the house. Pony said something about meeting the girl of his dreams and how beautiful she was. Thats when he told me that he liked me and then he tried to kiss me. I pushed him away and told him I liked someone else. Ponyboy went real quiet after that and he didn't say anything else for the next 15 minutes.

 We were just a couple of blocks down from the movie theatre when a red mustang pulled up beside us. A bunch of socs got out including Greg. I didn't know what to do. I grabbed onto Ponyboy because I was so scared. Ponyboy tried to fight them but they just pushed him to the ground and then they got all over him. I then jumped on one of them only for him to push me off. Ponyboy yelled for me to stay back because he didn't want me hurt. This once I didn't bring my flip knife and this once we got jumped. I yelled at Greg to do something but he just stood there that's when a big soc with brown hair came up to me. He started getting all handsy with me and he tried to kiss me. He whispered in my ear and told me all the things he wanted to do to me. He then tried and touch my ass but I didn't let him. Thats when Greg started to say something and the big soc didn't like that very much so he punched Greg. All the socs kept trying to cut Pony's hair and saying wanna hair cut Greaser. I got so pissed off. I shoved the Big soc and then started to pounce on another thats when another soc punched me in the gut. I threw up blood and I wanted to cry but it wasn't the time to cry. So I had to keep my cool.

Things were about to get really bad because the soc that was holding Ponyboy was threatening to slash Pony's neck and kill him. Thats, when you guys showed up well Darry was there first he struck the guy that was holding the knife to Ponyboy's throat. Then the rest of you showed up and Dally went ballistic cussing the Socs out. Thats when you attacked Greg and stuff well you already know the rest.

(Back to Kate's POV)

"Oh my god, Jay that's awful what happened to you," I said.

"It's not that big of a deal I'm just worried about Pony" Jay replied trying not to cry.

"Jay, yes it is what that guy did to you is unforgivable"

"Kate is wasn't the full-on thing"

"Yes but I know it is bothering you"

Thats when Jay lost it. Jay started sobbing in my arms and she just couldn't stop. I wanted to cry but I trained myself not to when you live in the hood you know not to cry. There are just certain moments like this one where a hood just breaks down. I knew that moment must have been even worse than what Jay had described because she was Dally's sister and they both had it rough she wouldn't cry over anything.

Thirty minutes had passed and Jay was still crying all I did was hold her. This reminded me of the night Johnny got jumped I held him exactly how I was holding Jay.

"Did you tell Dally?" I asked suddenly after a few minutes of silence.

"No, he would go berserk" Jay answered but I could barely hear through her cries. 

"True" I laughed because it was true and that was Dally.

I didn't know what to say this was one of those moments where I didn't know what to do. I was clueless. All I wanted to do was kill the dude that hurt Jay.

"Hey Kate" Jay continued on. 

"Yeah," I said.

"Can you tell me something that will make me feel better?" Jay asked.
