It was Saturday the day I dreaded it was also Jaylynn's fifteenth birthday party. She had set me up on a date with some weird man I didn't know but I knew she would have forced me even if I had said no.
A lot has changed since last Friday, Greg has gone home and the Gang is not mad at me anymore it took a lot of convincing them that I didn't try to betray them but I still feel bad about it tho. Dally still hasn't gotten over it and I don't think he ever will.
I was finishing my usual morning shift at the Diner when this really tall handsome man came in.
"We are closing in ten minutes you shouldn't be staying long. I have somewhere to go after this so you ain't going to be making me stay," I said as I was sweeping crumbs off the floor with a very old broom.
"Yeah...Well, I'm here for you, Jay said you wanted to go to the party with me."The man had a very sweet tone and it surprised me.
"Oh, really you're the man she set me up with?" I looked up at him and he look almost identical to Darry with the same shallow icy blueish-green eyes.
"Yeah...Is there a problem? I know I ain't the best looking but you were just too damn beautiful I had to shoot my shot." he said looking worried.
"No no, you're fine it's just you look like one of my friends that I had feelings for that's all." I said.
"Anyways Jay didn't tell me your name well I mean I see you in here all the time but what is it?"
"Oh yeah I remind you of whats him name...Darry? I don't think I'm much like him. Oh, it's Nathan by the way." He looked at me with two strands of black hair sticking out onto his forehead it was like Darry's.
I grew silent. This moment reminded me of the moment in the Curtis' kitchen a couple of weeks ago and how messy Darry's hair was I loved it, I loved him. I knew then I didn't want to be with Nathan or anybody for a fact all I wanted was Darry but I was too stubborn to realize it. I ruined everything he will see me tonight and I will break him. He will never speak to me again and I said that dating Darry would ruin everything but what I'm doing now is ruining everything. I got to tell Darry but I don't know what to tell Shawn. I will just go with him tonight and be done with him. I would just ghost him but he knows where I work. Shit, what do I do?
"So...Uh you want to go now?" asked Nathan.
"Yeah, I guess," I answered gloomily thinking about what Darry might think.
We walked to the Curtis's house and Nathan tried to make small talk but each time he did I just shot him down I couldn't take it being with him. He tried to hold my hand while we were walking down the street where the Curtis' house and the lot was on. I wanted to throw up.
Both me and Nathan stepped inside and my eyes shot straight at Darry who looked as if he just seen a ghost. There were flashing lights every where this was going to be one hell of a party. I don't know how Darry was okay with this but it showed his fun side that he barely showed to people and I was one of the only people who saw it.
"Hey, Kate you want a drink," Nathan asked me.
"Sure" I responded as I sat next to him on the couch.
I saw Darry coming to sit next to us and I got scared because I knew Darry would make a fuss. Darry sat right on the arm part of the sofa right next to me and wrapped his arm around me. I saw Nathan look over uncomfortably and he had the right to be. Nathan then held my hand and then I just couldn't anymore.
"I have to use the restroom" I lied and I got up, walked past many people who were dancing, and then I went to the bathroom.
When I got to the bathroom I opened the door to see Lia and Dally making out. All I could think was who fucking makes out in a bathroom.
