Chapter 12: Dawnite Scav

◇ Location: Kiffel City // District 25

◇ Time: Night

"Alright everyone! You guys ready!?" A female voice echoed in the night as a small group of her—three men with their pickaxe held up high—followed her in the night street. "It's time to resume the crater extraction. The resource might be scarce, but we can still extract the remaining value of it. Mine and make sure you avoid touching the Dawynxium source. Take your time if you have to. Now, follow!"

A woman with an armored chest plate, an exposed stomach alongside long armor plating pant, a gas mask alongside semi-transparent visor, and armor rubber gloves that goes up to her elbow. The whole color them resembled the blue Dawnyxium and the night sky. Her allies were similar design, wearing shirt under the chest plate.

They held their pickaxe on their right hand and have small backpack as well. They approached the direction of the crater site but suddenly halted once they noticed people at the area as well. When the woman observed them, she commanded two of her allies to a certain location.

"There's people. You two, go over there and wait for my signal. We won't let these people interfere with out extraction. They're strong but they can't handle the four of us. Now, go and standby."

She and one other person crouched, going to the behind and left side of Cerlia and Suki...

◇ Location: Kiffel City // District 25 // Crater Site

I heard something behind me. It wasn't the sound of air, any firefly bug, nor crickets. It sounded like quiet pebbles on the ground grinding and flinging a bit around. Not only that, but my instinct also sensed a presence of someone nearby. Something I could do now instead of EnNn telling me about them.

When I turned around, they were surprised to see me spotted then and I immediately unsheathe out my sword.

"Stop there, and don't sneak. It's useless." I shouted at them, bringing intimidation.

◇ "There is two more of them, faithful one. Stay cautious."

However, they stood then quickly, the woman took out a revolver and pointed at me with the pickaxe under her weapon as if he held a knife instead of a tool. She pulled the trigger which I had predicted and deflected it with my weapon!

Cerlia turned around as well and had her blade out, ready to fight alongside me. The blue crater's light made it easier to see the two people in the dark, also so that I could stood in front of my leader just in case. After all, the dangerous woman has a gun.

Suddenly, there were footsteps behind us, and two others of their ally had surrounded us, coming from both the back and the left side of us and behind. At the moment, they're at a distant, but with their numbers, they would quickly charge right in... I wished Cerlia wasn't here, I'll have to defend her from them!
