We want our members to feel inspired by the comments other members leave them. The problem is, some users have no idea what to look for when they read a story, so leaving a constructive comment can seem like a serious challenge.
POINTERS / GUIDE
♥ Always start a comment with a good point, something you like about the story.
♥ Opening sentence/ Paragraph - Is it a good place to start the story? Does it make a reader want to keep reading?
♥ Introduction to the main character - consider the first time you meet and the impression you get from the encounter.
♥ The end of the chapter — What makes you want to read the next chapter? Are there any questions or scenes that feel incomplete? Does the chapter feel finished? Is it a good place to leave a reader hanging?
♥ Second chapter opener — (may seem like a stupid question, but) does it follow on from the first chapter?
♥ Overall Spelling, grammar, punctuation — Did you notice any mistakes? Did it affect your enjoyment?
