My body went cold. I had drowned them out when I heard he fell and tears ran down my face. "Asia" Jalissa was snapping her fingers in my face "Asia girl oh my God" I took a deep breath "I gotta get to New York" Kelsey put Mel in his bed "I kno girl I booked the next flight out" Jalissa handed me a bag "Here ya bag.. Ima stay with the kids yall go up there Teke will be right behind yall" I grabbed the bag. Me and Kels ran out the house and down to the car. We got to the airport and headed straight to check in. After we got on the plane all my feelings hit and I started crying "Its gone be ok... You kno he a soldier he can shake this" I took two deep breaths "You right girl I'm not gone feel better til I see him"
In New York
Walkin into the hospital gave me chills. We saw Sneak and Big T by the front desk. Sneak and Kelsey embraced "Where is he" I looked at Big T "Come on" From this point on everything was in slow motion. We walked down the hall. Tj pointed to the door and I walked up to it. I put one hand on the door and the other on the door handle. When I pushed it open it felt like a ton of bricks was sitting behind it... I peeped in the room and saw him hooked to all these machines and he had on a neck brace and a breathing mask on his mouth. I walked all the way and sat down on the side of him. I grabbed his hand, it felt so stiff and lifeless. Donald walked in "He was having seizures" Big T came behind him "They put him in a coma to see if it would control them" Tears ran down my face as they told me the news. I laid my head down on his chest "Please come back to me come back to us" Kelsey and Sneak walked in. Sneak came over to me and rubbed my back "Yung a fighter he gone shake this shit" I wiped the tears off my cheeks but couldn't help but to cry seeing him in this condition was unexplainable. "So what's next" Kelsey looked at Sneak "It's a waiting game" Big T sat down "That's all we can do" my phone rang "Asia" It was Sheila "Yes mama" "Where my son" "He in the hospital" I gave her the details. She and Travis were on their way up here as soon as we got off the phone. Teke showed up the next day and we prayed and waited patiently that's all we could do. The next three days went by so slow. We all was camped out in his room. I was balled up in a chair next August bed flipping thru channels. Sheila grabbed her purse "Asia you want something to eat" I shook my head "I'm good" Kelsey sucked her teeth "She need something she hasn't ate at all today or last night" I rolled my eyes "I'm not hungry" Sheila cleared her throat "Well ya ass need to eat so ima get ya somethin" I sighed and continued flippin thru channels. I looked back at August just thinkin about the kids and him when I seen his finger jump. I sat up and looked at him he opened his eyes "August" I got up and looked at him then covered my mouth "Oh my God go get the doctor" Sheila came by the bed and waved off Travis "Go get em" August put his hand on the breathing mask and pulled it off his mouth. He started coughin "Where we at" The nurses and a doctor walked in and started checking his vitals "Mr. Alsina" He flashed a light in his eyes "How are you feeling" August raised his hand over his face to block the light "I'd feel better if the bright ass light wasn't in my face" The doctor turned it off "Ok how are his vitals" The nurse looked at the monitor "Everything seems to be good" The doctor used the bed remote to sit August up a little. He took off his stethoscope, put it in his ears and the metal part on Aug chest
"Breathe in and out for me" August did so while we stood there. Me with tears of joy and Sheila tightly grippin my hand as in disbelief but relieved. Travis was lookin over the doctor shoulders "He good" The doctor took his stethoscope and put it around his neck and turned around to us "His breathing is a little off I wanna keep him a few more days to keep an eye on him" One of the nurses left but the other stayed to look over charts with the doctor. He turned around to us "I'm doctor Anderson by the way I'll be on his case from now on" He turned back to August "What happen" Sneak was sittin in the chair next to his bed "Woadie ya passed out and hit ya head" August ran his hands down his face "So I been here for a few hours and everybody just came to see a nigxa" I wiped my tears and sat next to him "No August you been in a coma for three days" He sat up a little more. He looked confused "Mr. Alsina listen you got to get up and try to walk around to get circulation back in you legs" Sheila walked over to his bed "And ya need to eat. Doc can he eat" Dr. Anderson nodded his head "The cafeteria will provide him with breakfast, lunch and dinner. You guys are more than welcome to get a plate as well" Sheila kissed August forehead "Ill be back Yung" She tapped Travis on the shoulder and Kelsey went behind them. The other nurse came back in the room with this long tube and what seemed to be an oxygen tank. She must've seen me staring "This is a nasal cannula. Sit up for me August" She put it in his nose and behind his ears "I'm gonna hook the end of this tube to the oxygen tank. It should help him breath for now" Dr. Anderson walked to other side of his bed "Change his fluids" He looked at the second nurse and she left out the room. The first nurse finished puttin his other bag of fluids in then rolled her cart out the room. Dr. Anderson walked to the end of his bed "We'll be back to check on you a little later but walkin and breathing right is key today" He left out the room "Come on you should walk" He looked at me then at Sneak & Teke then me "Where the kids" Big T was standin next to me "Still in Atlanta we sent for her as soon as we had the chance" He smiled and pulled the covers back. I helped him up and we started walkin around the room. Sheila, Travis and Kelsey came in the room with plates of food. I laughed "All y'all some fatties" Kelsey sat in Sneak lap "We got y'all food too" August stopped me "I'm gettin dizzy" I turned around so he could sit on the bed. Sheila walked over to us and handed me a plate "Here Asia... August they gone bring yo food in a few ok" He nodded his head and climbed back in the bed. Travis opened his laptop "Where my phone" I looked at him "For what" I shook my head "Nope" He gave me this puppy dog look wit sad eyes. I pulled his phone out my purse "Here" He grabbed my hand and the phone and pulled me in then gave me a kiss. The next few days flew by and before we knew it Dr. Anderson was discharging August. "No overseas traveling Mr. Alsina" I was helping him get dressed "So other than eating right and slowing down what else does he have to do" "Do you smoke August" We all looked at him and he laughed "Well then you should smoke more" "Seriously" He handed August his discharge papers "Very it helps you relax more" I smiled at August "You ready baby" A nurse walked in and handed August this little plastic manual breathing thing and a wheelchair "If you feel out of breath use this" She smiled "Ok bye guys" She left and August sat in the wheelchair "Ima push him mama" Sheila grabbed all the balloons from his fans and us and tied them to the rail on the chair. We went downstairs to the lobby and waited for everybody else to come down "Try to walk around August" He grabbed his breathing thing and got up. Sheila started recording him. Teke, Sneak and Kels came down in the elevator "Y'all ready" August sat back down in the wheelchair and I pushed him thru the double doors.
3 Months Later
"Come on Mel let me put your jacket on" He took off runnin into the living room. The phone was slippin from between my ear and shoulder "Hold on August I got to catch Mel" He started laughin "Baybeh ima call ya back in a minute" I walked in the hallway "Ok call back for real" He laughed "I will" We hung up and Melvin took off across the hall to the kitchen "AMIR" I heard his little feet stop "Come here boy" I walked in the kitchen he was sitting in the middle of the floor. I picked him up and looked at his outfit "Good you not dirty" Aug walked in the kitchen "Mama you see my tie" I smiled and put Mel on the counter "Yea baby you look very handsome" Amiyah came down the stairs twirlin around in her dress. She stop and looked at herself in the mirror "I look good mama" I laughed then shook my head and put Mel shoes on then put him on the floor. I laughed a little "Yea girl come sit down. You too August" I picked Mel up and put him on the sofa. Sheila came down the stairs "You look good mama" She got to the bottom and twirled "I looked good yea I kno" She laughed "You got Amiyah copyin you" She walked over and kissed her forehead "C'mon y'all ready to go" The kids jumped down "Yea" Mel twisted around climbed down off the sofa. Sheila picked him up and my phone vibrated "Hello" "Hey baby we bout to leave" Sheila opened the door "Where y'all goin again" "To see Disney on ice" I noticed Sheila looked like she was talkin to someone "Iight baybeh ima see y'all tomorrow night" "Right cuz Tampa is your last show" "Yea I gotta go tho" "Ok August I love you" "I love you too baybeh" We hung up. Sheila stepped back and Amiyah ran towards the door "Grandpa" I froze then walked to the door. He looked fat but good. He had a fresh cut and some nice clothes on. But I thought about our last encounter and folded my arms "Sheila can you take them to the car" She grabbed Amiyah hand "C'mon Aug help meh wit ya brother" I focused on my dad "What you doin here" He pulled this brochure out his pocket "The last time we talked" I our my hand on my hip "Almost 2 years ago" He stepped towards me and I stepped back "Baby girl I" Sheila came up "I kno this important but you don't wanna be late" "Ok mama I'm comin" She grabbed the keys from me "Look baby girl I'm clean now" I kinda laughed "Where have I heard this before" He stared at me "I kno I messed up but I'm still your father don't disrespect me" I closed and locked the door "Like you did me and my kids... Ok dad" "Asia Marie Houston" I stopped "What" "Ikno I messed up but I am clean now" "I don't have time for this" He grabbed my arm "Asia please I just wanna make things right" I couldn't help but to think about August and how much I loved him. I did miss my dad but this was too much "Come back on Christmas pop then we'll talk" He gave me a hug "I'll be here bright and early" He kissed my cheek then left and I got in the car. "Everything good" I started the ignition "I hope so"
A Week Later
Christmas Day
Aug and Amiyah ran in the room "Daddy mommy wake up wake up" They were hopin on the bed "Get ya kids August" He turned over "Them yo kids" I threw my pillow at him and he started laughing. Travis came in the room with Mel on his shoulders "Come on Amiyah y'all food ready" They jumped off the bed and ran out. Travis closed the door and I turned over on my back "My dad suppose to be here today" August turned in my direction "Come on even if he don't show up we gone have good time today" He pulled me into him and ran his hand down my leg "You want that Christmas present" I smiled and he got on top of me then leaned down and kissed my neck. He ran his hands down my arms and put my hands over my head. He kissed me then slide his tongue in my mouth and bit my bottom lip. He pulled himself out of his boxers and proceeded to penetrate me. He pushed in deep making me gasp for air and making my toes curl. I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. I pulled him closer to me the deeper in dug inside me. I yelled out making him pumpkin faster. I ran my nails down his back and bit my lip every time he hit spot. He pumped faster and hard til he came and laid his head on my chest "That was a good Christmas present" I laughed and pushed him off me "You get it all the time ain't no present" He laughed and got up. He walked in the bathroom and got in the shower "Baybeh get my grey sweats" I put on my rob and pulled out his grey pants then got me a house dress out. After August got out the shower I got in. When I got out August was sittin on the edge of the bed "You look good baybeh" he stood up and gave e a kiss. Sheila knocked on the door "Y'all gone come watch these babies unwrap they gifts" I pulled my hair up "Yea mama Asia still gettin ready" He opened the door and she walked in "Asia your dad is here" We walked downstairs and my dad was holdin Melvin. Amiyah ran to me "Thank ya mama for the presents" She gave me a hug and ran back to her pile of stuff. Aug was playin wit his monster truck and wasn't payin anybody else no attention. My dad walked over to us "He's handsome y'all" August blushed a little "He got his daddy looks" I nudged him "I helped" He laughed and grabbed Mel from my dad "Asia I can't believe I missed you havin another baby" I smirked "As long as you here now" We walked to the kitchen "How old is he" "He'll be one in a few weeks" August came one behind us "Yep January 10" "Well I'm here 100 percent I'm here" August put a box on the counter "Merry Christmas baybeh" I looked at him and smiled. We heard a knock at the door and Sheila answered it. Knuck and Ky was there with the girls. August handed Mel to my dad. He grabbed the box and handed it to me "Open it" I scrunched my eyebrows and took the box. I had a feelin "August what you up to" I started to unwrap it and opened the box to a diamond ring. I put my hand over my mouth "Oh my God" August grabbed my hand and got down on one knee. "I wanna do this the right way with no bullshit. I love you Asia and I want you to be my wife..." I was a little eager because as soon as those words came out his mouth I interrupted him "Yes baby I'll marry you" He stood up, hugged and kissed me. "Awe that's a great Christmas present" Ky came and gave me a hug. "Right I gotta call Jalissa and Kelsey"
