"Mind your steps girl, walk properly or else you will topple some dish," the leader of the group instructed Avgi.
"Yes sir, I will be very careful," Avgi said as she moved with the dishes towards the huge dining room.
Avgi was still stunned to see the mansion owned by her boss. It was a sin to call it a mansion as it could easily be referred to as a castle. The whole structure could rival a castle any day.
The kitchen had left Avgi amazed at its size and now the dining room was also too grand. The mansion was no less grand then the hotel where she worked.
Avgi kept herself busy as she kept helping in the preparation of dinner.
"Avgi, are you faring well with your job. Do you need me to arrange someone to help you?" Selena asked when she saw Avgi trying to unload some heavy materials from the delivery trucks.
"Selena, you look like a doll. Wow, I didn't know that my best friend could look so beautiful in a gown." Avgi complemented as she looked over at Selena appreciatively.
Selena smiled at her friend's compliment and preened with pride.
"I am happy to hear that you like my choice in dress. Oh how I wish I could help you dress up too for today's party but you are serving here as a server," Selena pouted cutely.
Avgi chuckled at her friend's expression.
"Don't be unhappy Selena, I am still attending the party after all even if I am only a server here," Avgi reminded her as she tried to lift the heavy sack once again.
"Oh for heaven's sake why do you try to do something which is far too hard for you," Selena said as she lifted the weight herself and carried it inside the kitchen.
Avgi followed her without a word. Avgi knew that Selena had always been a little too powerful and could carry heavy weights without breaking a sweat.
Avgi had often commented about this in front of Selena but she always brushed her off saying that she was just born like that.
"Here, now you don't have to toil over it," Selena said and placed the sack near the counter.
"Avgi you need to serve the entrée now," the chef commanded and Avgi moved towards the trays placed over the counter as the other servers started lifting trays to take to the huge hall where the party was being held.
"I will see you later Selena," Avgi said with a smile and moved with the tray towards the hall.
She was on her second trip when a female attending the party bumped into her. The tray crashed to the floor and the entrée splattered.
"Don't you ever watch where you are walking you stupid bitch?" the female snarled as she moved away from Avgi.
Avgi had been about to apologize but the way the female had insulted her made Avgi stop. Avgi clenched her teeth as she bent down and picked up the contents from the floor.
'Think about the money Avgi, don't listen to her words," Avgi thought as she cleaned the floor and went inside the kitchen to inform the chef about what had happened.
"I had warned you to walk properly Avgi but you ruined a tray full of my master-pieces. I think you should just help me here instead of serving the guests," the chef said with an angry expression.
Avgi's shoulders stooped when she saw how the other servers tittered at her but she kept her head high and moved to help the chef.
"What do you want me to do?" Avgi asked with a smile.
