Syolik POV
"Today's the day" I thought, excitement and nervousness flowing through my veins. "Today's the day I explore the Solar System!" I couldn't wait. I had shot out of my bed for this moment. That's when the voice on the Intercom spoke, "Explorer S0ck5, your shuttle is leaving in precisely T-15 Minutes." My shuttle. My. Shuttle. I sprinted towards the docking station. I got there with precisely 5 minutes and 37 seconds. I stood, sin awe of my own shuttle. A TEL Model Cryoshuttle. It's black solar absorbing paint to help gain energy for it's hyperdrive. Now, we did have practice on piloting, but that was with a simulation. My life, and the exploration of this Solar System, are in my hands. I opened the door, with my orange, sharp ended tentacle. The shuttle was specially made for Space Travel and My Species. My tentacles all had specific buttons and levers. The Intercom spoke again "Launching in T-5 seconds." The engine started to rumble. I prepared for lift off as I engaged the thrusters. I felt the pressure pushing my gelatinous body against the seat, it hurt like hell, but all for the good of Rexylan kind.
