we sat in the sand on top of a towel. his arm over my shoulder as i leaned into him. clay rested his head on top of mine. music playing from his phones speaker.

yellow by coldplay turn on and i stood up. i reached a hand out for him and pulled him up. he gave me a confused look as i wrapped my arms around his neck.

"slow dance with me clay" i said loud enough to hear over the waves crashing. his hands fell to my waist and we stared into each other's eyes.

"i had fun tonight" clay said "thank you for coming with me"

"that's what she said" he threw his head back and laughed and i just smiled and the boy in front of me.

we finished the song and then godspeed came on. clay grabbed my hand and spun me around before dipping me and looking into my eyes.

"may i kiss you?" he asked

"only because you used correct grammar" i joked and he smashed our lips together. i kissed back as he he put me back on both my feet but had our lips still connected.

we pulled away for air and looked at each other. i went to speak but was stopped by clay kissing me again. i smiled into the kiss.

"clay" i said against his lips

"what?" he asked back then connected our lips again.

"i really like you" i said making him smile

"i really like you too" he responded.

"let's get you home. you look like you are getting tired" he said and i nodded.

we packed everything up and walked to his car. i got into the passenger side and groaned loudly making clay laugh as he got into the car.

"what's wrong pretty girl?" he asked

"i feel like i ruined our date by dumping my trauma onto you" i said being totally open and honest.

"sadie you didn't. i want you to be honest and open about your feelings" he said and i just nodded.

"listen to me, you didn't ruin anything. if you were to tell me more stuff now, it still wouldn't ruin anything. it just shows you trust me" he explained and i nodded

"come on princess say something" he said

"hi" i said making him laugh lightly and me smile.

he put his hand on the back of my headrest and backed out of his parking spot while i stared at him. he looked over at me and smirked. i then turned on some music.

i sang my heart out to memories by conan gray as he drove me home. we were kind of far from my apartment. as he drove i put my hand at the nape of his neck and played with his hair that laid there.

"i like when you play with my hair" he said and i smiled.

"i like playing with your hair so its a win win situation here" i joked which made him smile.

i played 4ever by clairo and looked over at the dirty blonde next to me. god he was gorgeous. i was so down bad for this man.
