i woke up to clay still asleep on me. i smiled as i started playing with his hair and i noticed him smile. i kissed his head and his smile widened.

"i know you are awake clay" i said and he looked up at me. i kissed him and he kissed back.

"what time is it?" he asked as he rolled off of me. i grabbed my phone and checked it.

"4 pm" i said and he nodded while staring at the ceiling.

"oh yeah, you said you wanted to talk to me about something. right?" he questioned and i nodded.

we both sat up and i got out from under the covers and sat more to the bottom of the bottom of the bed. i looked down and played with my rings as he put a hand on my knee.

"take your time princess" he said

"do you remember the night i was at your house and i got that phone call?" i asked

"yeah, i was really worried about you that night" he said making me sighed

"well my mom's sister called." i started "my mom got arrested for drugs"

"i'm sorry sae" a nickname he called me the first time we met.

"she also told me that my dad overdosed and died around the same time my brother did" i explained and tears welled up in my eyes

i looked up at him to see his face full of worry and sorrow. i blinked and tears fell down my cheeks. i have never cried in front of clay. this was a first.

"i don't even know what to say. i am just so beyond sorry sadie" he said rubbing his thumb on my knee.

"don't be sorry. it's not your fault." i said making him sigh.

"i hope you know i was never upset or angry with you. i was only worried and scared." clay said making more tears fall down my face.

"i'm thinking about going back into therapy" i said openly. i hadn't told anyone i used to be in therapy but now he knew.

"i think it will be good for you. i will be here every step of the way" he said.

i smiled at him and he smiled back. i then heard my name being called from downstairs making clay give me a confused look. i laughed and kissed him.

"i will be right back" i said getting up and going downstairs to find sapnap and george in the kitchen. george had an apron on and i laughed.

"great you are here." george said

"we are having clay's birthday dinner tonight because george has to leave for the uk tomorrow to see his family." sapnap said and i nodded

"so what can i help with?" i asked

"keep clay distracted. these steaks should be done in about an hour. if that means fucking, be as loud as you want. i just want this to be a surprise" sapnap said and george gave him a disappointed look

i laughed but nodded. they went back to cooking and i walked upstairs to clays room. i found him on his phone. he looked up at me and got a soft look on his face as he set his phone aside.

"what did they want?" he asked

"just asking about your birthday again. i am getting you an epic gift so just you wait." i said as i straddled him and kissed his cheek.

"hmm i wonder what it is" he said and i giggled as his hands met my waist.

"you will just have to wait and see"
