if hair colour reflected your emotions

I'm watching TV right now, and it's like, 10pm. My hair is its resting colour, brown.

"OH EM GEE!" I shout, sitting up, my hair turning bright yellow.

There's this delicious coffee depicted on the TV.

"It is essential to my life that I get one of these." I mutter, standing up and pausing my show.

I throw on my fuzzy hoodie, letting my braid hang out, and grab my phone.

"Yayyyy" I smile to myself, slipping on my bunny slippers and leaving my apartment. Now my hair is green.

I walk down the street to my favourite cafe, Cozy Coffee.  The bell jangles as I walk in, and I see many aspiring authours with orange hair clacking away.

My eyes drift to the menu, and I scan it, cursing myself for not trying to figure out what kind of coffee it was.

"Can I help you?" A soft voice calls. I look down, meeting the eyes of the person behind the desk. They have short hair, purple at the moment, and they have deep blue eyes, a perfect nose, and they are absolutely beautiful

My hair turns bright pink, and I see the person, Alex as their name tag reads, glance at my braid. I quickly tuck it in my hoodie, and the tips of Alex's hair turns pink as well. Alex looks away.

"Uh. No. I'm looking for a coffee that I just saw on TV, but I don't know what it's called." I look back up at the board.

Alex looks back at me. "Do you have a picture?"

I'm sure my hair is bright red by now. "Uh, no, I literally paused my show and walked over here."

"Yeah," Alex smirks. "I can tell."

My braid falls out, and Alex looks at it, then their hair turns pink.

"I mean, I guess I could go back and take a picture." I suggest, standing awkwardly.

Alex looks away. "Yeah." they look back. "Well I mean, if you want my expert expertise, I could come with you."

My breath stops. "Uh."

"I mean, only if you want me to, of course." Alex fidgets.

I take in a big breath. "Uh. Can-can I have your number?"

Alex's hair turns red. They grab a napkin, and scribble something on it.

I grab it, wave awkwardly, and leave the shop before my hair can catch on fire.

I walk back to my apartment, and plop down on my couch. I unfold the napkin, to see a number and a short message that makes my hair turn red all over again.
