---Chapter four
When Taehyung's phone vibrated with a notification of a new message, he glanced at the screen, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. With this way of texting and the content of the message, he immediately remembered and realized that it was definitely Jennie. She must have gotten his phone number somehow. He sighed inwardly, already anticipating funny jokes or maybe even more unwanted actions from her. CEO's daughter.
Rolling his eyes, he reluctantly tapped on the message to see what she had to say this time.Taehyung's lips pursed as he read the message. He debated whether to answer or simply ignore it, but in the end, he decided to answer, even though his answer was a albeit with a hint of annoyance evident.
"Hello Jennie. Thank you for checking. Everything is fine, just busy with work. How about you?"
He sent the text and hoped that their conversation would end, but in his heart, he knew better than to expect such luck when this texting dialog was between her and him. He really doesn't like her but he can't avoid her because she is daughter of Mrs. Kim, who just praised him few hours ago and brought great opportunities for his work.
Meanwhile, at the Kim family villa, Jennie couldn't help but smile triumphantly when receiving Taehyung's answer. She leaned back in her chair, her mind already planning to pique his interest further. What can say, Taehyung was really noticed by Jennie and he certainly wouldn't be able to escape in the future. Because she is very stubborn and once she likes someone, she will always follow that person.
"He replied!" she exclaimed to Jungkook, who was lounging nearby.
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? What did he say?"
"He's just busy with work," Jennie replied, tapping away on her phone as she composed her next message to Taehyung.
As Taehyung's phone buzzed once more, he inwardly groaned, bracing himself for whatever Jennie had concocted this time. But then again decided to read her message.
"Work, work, work. That's all you ever seem to talk about, Taehyung. Don't you ever take a break? Let's grab dinner sometime. My treat!"
Taehyung's frustration grew as he read Jennie's message. He had no desire to spend any more time with her than absolutely necessary, but he also didn't want to come off as rude. With a resigned sigh, he crafted a polite yet firm response.
Taehyung really didn't know what to say when he read Jennie's message. He didn't want to spend more time with her than was absolutely necessary, but he also didn't want to seem rude. With a resigned sigh, he gave a polite but firm answer.
"Thanks for this offer, Jennie, but I'm very busy with work right now. Maybe another time."
He pressed send and hoped this conversation would end now, but for Jennie, she probably wouldn't accept such a no so easily.
Back at the villa, Jennie's lips curled into a mischievous smile when receiving Taehyung's answer. She didn't intend to let him escape the siege so easily. She started sending messages again that had a bit of teasing in them.
"Come on, Taehyung! Don't be such a workaholic. You should take a break to refresh your mind. How about this Saturday? I know this amazing restaurant in the city. You won't regret it."
Jennie pressed send and eagerly awaited Taehyung's response, her mind racing with plans to make their dinner date as memorable as possible.
Meanwhile, Taehyung couldn't help but groan in frustration when he read Jennie's latest message. He didn't understand why he was the one who caught Jennie's eye because he had nothing and wasn't even rich like her. Perhaps Jennie also didn't seem to realize that he had no interest in spending time with her outside of work.
With a resigned sigh, he composed his answer, this time his tone was very determined.
"I appreciate the offer, but I really don't think it's a good idea for us to hang out outside of work. Let's keep things professional and work more productive, okay?"
He pressed send and hoped that the message would eventually reach her, but deep down, he knew that dealing with Jennie Kim had never been so simple.
When Jennie's phone vibrated with Taehyung's reply. Honestly, she didn't expect that one day a guy would reject her. Before, every guy always wanted to know her, even the ones she liked liked her back. She felt annoyed when he refused to spend time with her outside of work. Maybe she's used to getting what she wants and she won't let the slightest rejection stop her from pursuing what she desires.
With determined eyes, she quickly composed an answer, her tone was cheerful but persistent.
"Aw, come on, Taehyung! Don't be such a stick in the mud. Let's just have dinner as friends. I promise I won't bite...unless you want me to."
She pressed send and eagerly waited for Taehyung's response, she began to flirt to win him over and make him see that she was worth a chance. But she waited forever and still didn't see his message. She began to get impatient.
"You're such an interesting guy, Taehyung."
As Taehyung immersed himself in his work, trying to put aside thoughts of Jennie and their conversation, night fell, casting a blanket of darkness over the city. Unbeknownst to him, Jennie was also making her way to a famous club where her group of famous friends often gathered. Tonight is a special occasion, it's Jisoo's birthday, a very famous Korean actress today. Jisoo and Jennie were close friends since childhood. Until Jisoo came to Korea to pursue her dream of becoming an actress, they always kept in touch even though Jisoo was one year older than her.
Jennie entered the lively atmosphere of the club, greeted by the vibrant rhythm of music and bright lights. She walked through the crowd, smiling and nodding at familiar faces in the entertainment industry. Among the crowd, she saw a radiant Jisoo at the center of attention, surrounded by friends.
"Jisoo unnie, happy birthday." Jennie ran to hug Jisoo.
"Thank you my little sister."
"You're so beautiful unnie. I hope my sister will be more successful with more dramas."
"Love you Jennie."
"Love you too unnie"
Jennie's eyes scanned the room, and suddenly, they stopped at a familiar figure. That's Taehyung. He was standing near the bar, seemingly engrossed in conversation with someone. Jennie's heart beat fast when she saw him, curiosity and determination surged within her.
Without hesitation, she walked towards him, deliberately weaving through the crowd. As she approached, she couldn't help but admire his striking presence, the way his dark hair fell easily over his forehead.
"Taehyung," she called, her voice drowning out the noise of the club.
He turned to face her, his expression momentarily surprised before smoothing into a polite nod. "Jennie, what are you doing here?"
Jennie smiled seductively at him, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "I could ask you the same thing. But let's not focus on that anymore. Anyway, today is Jisoo's birthday. Do you want to join us?"
Taehyung hesitated, his mind chaotic with conflicting thoughts. On one hand, he was wary of spending more time with Jennie outside of work and her tricks, but on the other hand, he couldn't deny the appeal of the evening and the opportunity to relax.
Before he could answer, Jennie wrapped her arms around his, gently pulling him towards the center of the party. "Come on, Taehyung. it will be fun, I promise."
