THIRD PERSON'S POV

The next day came smoothly. Gian happily woke up even though he only got six hours of sleep last night. He struggled on sleeping because all he thought about the whole night was just Asher. He doesn't even know how he drifted to sleep, all he remembers is just him thinking of Asher's face and imagining their future together.

He immediately sat up on his bed and said a prayer. He then did his morning routine, he took a bath, ate his breakfast, brushed his teeth, combed his hair, put on his uniform and went to the park. It has been his and Asher's routine every morning to wait for each other there and walk to school together.

...

Ten minutes has already passed since Gian came to the park and there was no still sign of Asher coming. It is very unusual of her to be this late, she's always the one who waits for him there.

"This is strange. Where are you Asher?" Gian said to himself. He was already getting impatient. He then remembered that they have their quarterly exams today at school, he thought that maybe Asher didn't want to be late waiting for him at the park and decided to go to school without him.

"Hay, Ash. You really are so unfair." He smilingly said as he walked slowly and headed to their school alone.

...

As soon as Gian made his way to school, he immediately went to their classroom and looked for Asher.

"Gian, san si Ash?" Yeng, who's Asher's best friend, asked him.

"I don't know, I thought she's already here that's why I walked to school alone. She still hasn't come?"

"Hindi ko pa sya nakita eh. Iniintay ko nga kanina pa." Yeng replied. They looked for her everywhere for several minutes until the school's bell rang, the Flag Raising Ceremony's about to start.

"Wala parin sya, baka absent? Pero hindi naman yun umaabsent kapag may exam tayo eh." Yeng said, she's still wondering why Asher still hasn't come to school.

"Let's just go to the stadium, the FRC's about to start, we should get going." Gian replied, he thought of just visiting Asher later at their home after school.

Afternoon came and Gian felt very satisfied and happy that their exams were finally done. When the class bid their goodbyes to everyone, Gian immediately went out of their classroom and ran his way to Asher's home, hoping that he'd see her there.

But when he came, he looked outside the gate of Asher's house and found that it was locked. There were no people inside, his Tita Divine and Tito Delfin weren't there, and so is Asher.

"Where are you, Ash?" Gian sadly said to himself. He was about to cry when someone called his name.

"Gian!" He looked back and saw an old lady's smiling face, it was Aling Tasing who shouted his name.

"Hello po, Aling Tasing." Gian said as he took her hand and put it on his forehead.

"God bless you utoy, bakit ka ba nariyan?" Aling Tasing asked, she was watering her plants on her frontyard when she saw Gian nearby, looking around for someone. She immediately went to him and approached him with a smile.

"I was looking for Asher po. Did you see her?" Gian wasn't really good at speaking in Tagalog. He was born in Italy but his parents raised him here in the Philippines but trained him to speak in English and Italian language.
