The wedding took place in a months time just like Leroi said it would. I was seated beside Arn as I watched Leroi and Erna exchange vows. They looked beautiful together and I should have been happy for them but I couldn't be.
My heart was still broken and because Leroi broke it.
I was madly in love with him and he knew that, but he still went and hurt me. I guess that it was only in his nature to do such a thing. He was a Demon, and he'd always behave like one. But I thought he had really changed this time around.
Now I knew that nothing would ever change.
The ceremony ended and I stood up and followed Arn over to Leroi. He was chatting with a few of his Demon friends while Erna did the same with the bridesmaids.
"Congratulations, she's really a catch." I heard one of the demons say.
"Thanks, and I agree. She's going to be amazing to have." Leroi replied with a smile. His eyes suddenly met mine and I quickly averted my gaze.
He continued talking to his friends before we finally left together. We got into his car and he drove us back to the mansion. Erna was to move in a few days. I couldn't believe that she'd be living there from now on. Once we reached the mansion I went up to my room and changed clothes before collapsing on top of my bed.
It could have been worse right? I kept asking myself.
I sighed and closed my eyes to sleep but that's when I heard a soft knock on my door.
"Yes?" I slowly sat up as it opened, and in walked none other than Leroi.
"You sure took off in a hurry? Were you tired?" He asked me.
I frowned, "Yeah.." I answered. I was tired, tired of him being a liar. One minute he was all over me and then the next he had a new Demon lover. I was sick of being treated like a fool.
"Is there something else you want to say to me?" Leroi asked.
"Congratulations on your marriage. I'm sure Erna will be a great wife to you." I told him.
He smirked, "You're not angry are you?"
"Why would I be angry?"
"I remembered telling you that she was only friend before, and now here I am married to her. I didn't mean to lie to you, it's just that she and I suddenly became more than friends."
"So you love her then?"
Leroi shook his head, "No, I told you that love is not something we demons are capable of."
"Then why marry her? Why do any of this?"
"Because I hoped that it would help me forget about them.." Leroi said.
"Forget about who?" I asked, even though deep down I already knew the answer.
"Sire, and Alice.. My past lovers. I thought that I could get over their deaths if I focused on someone else, but you've proven to be useless to me once more Aden."
"Or maybe you're just making up another excuse to avoid me. Is it because you hate me?" I asked.
He didn't answer.
"I love you Leroi, and after all this time of being your tool, I accepted these feelings because they wouldn't go away. But you make me so sad. Every time I see you with someone else my heart aches and I feel broken. I love you so much and all you keep thinking about is them!" I cried.
"Aden.." Leroi approached the bed and caressed my cheek. "You shouldn't love someone like me, you'll only end up suffering more."
I leaned up and kissed his lips, "I don't care.." I whispered and tried to kiss him again but he pulled away.
"I have to go. Try to get some rest." He said before leaving my room.
The door opened and closed before I lay there and cried. I didn't know why I couldn't discard my feelings for him. I knew that I was only going to continue getting hurt but every time I saw him I just wanted him.
I stayed in bed the remainder of the day. I hadn't heard from Leroi at all for the remainder of that week. Erna eventually moved in and he started spending all of his time with her. I was left alone once more.
A few weeks passed and I was walking down the corridor when someone I bumped into someone. I looked up to see Erna.
She was even more beautiful up close. I hadn't really had the pleasure of being close to her. Infact we hadn't spoken at all, and she probably forgot that even existed.
"Who are you?" She asked confirming my belief.
"I-I'm Aden, I work here." I answered nervously.
"Oh, now I remember you. You're Leroi's personal assissant am I right?" Erna asked.
I nodded, "Yeah.."
"I hardly recognized you. Did you grow your hair out?" She reached out touch my hair and that's when Leroi suddenly appeared.
"Erna, there you are."
"Leroi, you surprised me. I was on my way to see you but bumped into Aden here instead." Erna said.
"I see.." Leroi looked at me for a moment before wrapped his arm around Erna's waist. "Let's go then shall we."
Erna smiled, "Of course lead the way handsome."
At that they walked away together and I was left standing alone once more.
"Hey Aden!"
Arn suddenly appeared.
"Arn.."
"Want to help me some of my chores? I have a shit ton of dishes to wash, but I barely any strength left these days because I also have finish helped Bran with the feast for tonight. There's going to be another party so I could really use a hand."
"Sure I help you." I said.
"Thanks a lot!" He hugged me and I smiled before following him down to the kitchen. I spent hours washing the dishes and soon Demon's started pouring in for the party that Leroi hosted. I decided to skip out on it and returned to my room.
I showered and put on more clothes before getting into bed. I stared up at ceiling as unwanted thoughts filled my mind again. I found myself thinking about Leroi again. He and Erna were getting along great and maybe they'd last forever.
I shouldn't have liked him so much, he hurt me and got everyone I loved killed so how could I even think of loving him?
I sighed and cleared my thoughts before finally deciding to sleep. I was half awake when the door creaked open. I heard footsteps and soon a pale hand caressed my cheek. I moaned and looked up only to see darkness.
"I'm sorry I kept you waiting." Someone said.
"Leroi?" I whispered before a soft pair of lips pressed against my own.
"Sleep now Aden."
My eyes fell closed and I ended up falling asleep almost instantly after that.
The next morning I woke up to find my room empty. I got out of bed and quickly got dressed before leaving. I saw Arn walking ahead and caught up with him.
"Arn!"
He stopped and turned to face me, "Good morning Aden. Did you sleep well?"
I nodded, "Yeah, have you seen Leroi?"
"He and Erna just left. They're leaving town, they won't be back for awhile." Arn informed me.
I frowned, "Oh.., I see." Leroi had left without saying goodbye, but maybe that's why he came to see me last night. I blushed once I remembered the kiss we shared. I touched my lips and thought of him some more.
I loved him and I thought of myself crazy for it. Just what was he doing to me?
I could only hope these feelings wouldn't get worse. Because it'd probably be the end of me.'
A/N Very slow updates from here, sorry for the wait. Lazy start and new things happening!
