Caroline and her twin sister, Maggie (who made everyone call her Mags and refused to not be known as the older fraternal twin because she hated the comments of people saying they didn't look alike), had lived at Cousins Beach their whole life. Brought there by their mother who fell in love with the place when one of her best friends, Susannah, bought a summer house on the beach.
The girls dad had been fine with it. He loved the beach and was often on trips as he wrote about different places in the world. But Cousins only truly felt like home when Susannah brought her two boys down and Laurel brought her son and daughter.
Conrad, Steven, Belly, and Jeremiah. The children of Caroline's mothers two best friends since age 9. They'd all grown up together, with the Bennett children living in the house directly across the street from the Fisher summer home.
During the summer holiday when all the kids got together, it was the best time of the year. There was nothing better than summers in Cousins. But this summer there was some type of shift.
