008 summer lovin'
It was finally dinner time and Caroline was never more excited for dinner than Belly's birthday dinners. Susannah always went crazy with her food, making sure the young girl had the perfect end to her night. And luckily for Caroline, she got to experience the meal every year.
She had her flower crown on that Belly said was specifically for her. Caroline really didn't see a difference between hers and the other ones, but just thanked the birthday girl and put it on.
The conversation at the table had been... random. It seemed as always there where about eight different conversations going on at once and sometimes there where multiple going around just a few people. Tonight was no different as Caroline found herself in more conversations than she could keep track of.
Caroline swatted Stevens hand away as he tried to stick it in her face, cursing the boy out. "So Cam. You mind if I call you Cam Cameron?" Jeremiah wondered. Caroline immediately began ignoring Steven as she watched, making sure Jeremiah didn't go too far as his plan was obviously to mess with Belly.
Cam just laughed a bit. "Mm-hmm. Yeah, man. Feel free. That's funny." Jeremiah nodded. "Cool." Susannah just smiled. "I'm glad you're here, Cameron. I know your mom, Denise, from the club. I have heard a lot about you." Cam nodded politely with a smile. "Thank you so much for having me, Susannah. My mom says hi."
"Cam, have you ever had miyeok-guk before? It's a Korean birthday tradition." Laurel explained, handing it to the boy. He shook his head as he took it. "No. Looks so good. Thank you." Laurel started grabbing unused things on the table. "Belly told me you're vegetarian, so I didn't put any meat in it."
"Thank you, Laurel. Oh, geez." Cam smiled. "Why don't you eat meat, Cam Cameron?" Jeremiah questioned. Caroline thought it was noble. If she wasn't so impulsive in all her choices she'd try to be vegetarian. She just knew that if one craving hit she'd end it, though. But him being able to stick it out was cool. Cam just shrugged. "Uh, the meat industry is, like, the number one contributor to global warming."
"Mm." Jeremiah nodded. "And I just, I like animals." Cam finished. "Just don't come for my leather jacket." Taylor joked and Steven chuckled to himself. "I'm pretty sure you mean pleather."
"Ooh." Jeremiah teased as Taylor sent her middle finger towards Steven. Jeremiah chuckled before going back to the vegetarian topic. "You know, uh, actually, Belly eats meat. So, you let her kiss you with those lips?" Belly looked up annoyed. "Guys. Stop."
Cam shook his head as he laughed a bit. "No, I don't judge people for eating meat. It's just, like, a personal choice. I don't care." Caroline smiled. "That's really cool of you, Cam." He nodded slightly and Belly sent Caroline a thankful look, one she just winked at.
